Location: Hyderabad/Bangalore & Gurgaon Job Purpose: As a Group Product Designer II on our Design Systems team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and evolving our multi-brand design system. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to create reusable, responsive, and accessible design components that drive consistency and efficiency across all digital products. Your expertise in Figma, including advanced use of variables and theming, will be critical in building a design system that not only meets aesthetic standards but also supports dynamic stakeholder needs and business growth. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Design System Development: • Lead the creation and continuous evolution of our multi-brand design system, ensuring it supports diverse product lines and adheres to best practices in responsive and accessible design. • Develop and maintain high-quality, reusable design components in Figma, emphasizing advanced variable management, theming, auto-layout, and plugin utilization. • Establish a robust documentation framework using Storybook or similar tools to provide clear, actionable guidelines for designers and developers. Collaboration & Stakeholder Management: • Partner with cross-functional teams—including designers, developers, and product managers—to identify needs, prioritize initiatives, and drive the adoption of the design system. • Engage with key stakeholders to communicate design decisions, articulate the business value of a cohesive design system, and gather feedback to inform ongoing improvements. • Work closely with engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of design components into codebases, leveraging tools like Storybook for interactive documentation. Quality & Documentation: • Ensure that all design assets meet rigorous quality standards and are thoroughly documented with clear usage guidelines. • Build and maintain comprehensive design system documentation using Figma and Storybook to provide clear implementation guidance across teams. • Collaborate with developers to align design specifications with coded implementations, ensuring pixel-perfect execution and design consistency. Mentorship & Thought Leadership: • Stay current with industry trends, emerging design patterns, and accessibility standards, integrating these insights into our design processes. • Advocate for scalable design solutions that enhance efficiency and maintainability across digital products. Agile Environment: • Thrive in an agile setting, effectively managing priorities and contributing to sprint planning and execution. • Utilize your strong systems thinking and strategic problem-solving skills to anticipate challenges and deliver scalable design solutions. Experience: • 6+ years of experience in product or UX design, with a strong focus on design systems and creating scalable, reusable components. • Proven track record of building complex digital products using design systems in a fast-paced, multi-brand environment. • Experience with Storybook or similar documentation tools to bridge the gap between design and development. Technical Expertise: • Advanced proficiency in Figma, including expertise in Figma variables, theming, auto-layout, and version control. • Solid understanding of design tokens, accessibility (WCAG standards), and best practices for responsive design across web, iOS, and Android platforms. • Strong knowledge of Storybook or other interactive documentation platforms to enhance cross-team collaboration and design consistency. Stakeholder & Communication Skills: • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate design strategies and articulate the business impact of design system initiatives. • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to effectively lead cross-functional teams through design challenges and projects.
