Position: Designer/Sr. Designer – Millwork Location: WFO - Ahmedabad/ Chennai or Hybrid (Initial 3 to 6 months in-office, then WFH option available) About Us Hitech is an Integrated Engineering Consulting and Business Process Solutions organization specializing in BIM, Engineering and BPM services. Position Summary A mechanical millwork designer is a skilled professional who specializes in creating detailed designs and plans for custom millwork projects. This job requires a combination of technical knowledge, artistic flair, and excellent problem-solving abilities. As a mechanical millwork designer, the primary responsibility is to review architectural drawings and specifications to understand the project requirements. After understanding the client's needs, the designer uses computer-aided design (CAD) software to create 2D and 3D models, including detailed plans, layouts, and renderings. Primary Responsibilities: Designing mechanical millwork projects, including casework, cabinetry Joinery technics, and other custom woodwork. This role requires strong technical skills, knowledge of industry standards, and the ability to collaborate effectively with architects, engineers, and clients. Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to develop detailed and accurate mechanical millwork designs. Create 3D models and generate 2D drawings using CAD software, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client specifications. Conduct site visits to take measurements and gather information needed for design development. Prepare material and hardware selection and produce accurate bills of materials. Optimize designs for functionality, cost-effectiveness, and adherence to project requirements. Create production documents, including shop drawings, fabrication plans, and installation instructions. Review and modify designs based on feedback from team members, clients, and quality control inspections. Collaborate with the production team to address design-related issues during fabrication and installation. Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and new materials to enhance design capabilities. Skills and competencies Good knowledge about Joinery technics. Good Mechanical Knowledge. Quick learner. Basic interpersonal skills, ability to understand communication. Ability to identify problems and seek help when needed. Take responsibility for own tasks and seek to learn more. Experience & Qualification Experience Requirements: 2 to 6 Years.
