Lecturer/Assistant Professor - Fashion Studies (Styling and Creative Direction)Minimum Qualifications: An undergraduate degree/PG or equivalent in fashion journalism, styling, communication, or a related field from a reputed design school. Minimum industry experience of 5+ years for Lecturer, 7-10 years for Assistant Professor, including some teaching experience. Proven expertise and professional experience in fashion journalism, styling, and creative concept generation, with a strong portfolio showcasing exceptional writing skills, styling techniques, and creative direction. Strong understanding of fashion history, subcultures, cultural influences, and their impact on contemporary fashion trends. Previous teaching or training experience in fashion journalism, styling, fashion history, or a related field is highly desirable. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in relevant software and tools used in fashion journalism, styling, and creative concept generation, such as Adobe Creative Suite, content management systems, and social media platforms. Ability to conduct classes on Fashion Campaign Shoot Pre-Production, Production, and Post-Production. Industry connections and ability to facilitate industry projects, internships, and future placements for students.Roles and Responsibilities: Develop a comprehensive and contemporary curriculum, ensuring alignment with industry trends, best practices, and IIAD academic standards. Continuously update the curriculum to reflect changes in the fashion industry, particularly in the areas of fashion history, subcultures, and cultural influences that aligns with the program specifications of Fashion Communication. Continuously update the learning management system in advance with the Project learning calendar, assignments, workshops to maintain clear communication with students Deliver engaging and informative lectures, workshops, and practical sessions covering various aspects of fashion communication, including fashion journalism, styling, fashion campaign shoots, and creative concept development. Teach students about the cultural context of fashion, exploring the impact of historical and contemporary subcultures, trends, and influences on the global fashion industry. Guide students in the planning and execution of fashion campaign shoots, covering pre-production, production, and post-production processes. Create a dynamic and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation, collaboration, and critical thinking. Foster creativity, innovation, and a deep understanding of fashion journalism, styling, and concept generation among students. Provide individualized mentorship and guidance to students, assisting them in developing their writing skills, styling portfolios, projects, and career aspirations in fashion journalism, styling, and creative direction. Develop and administer assessments, projects, and examinations to evaluate students' understanding and progress. Provide constructive feedback to students on their work, help them refine their skills, and support their academic and professional growth. Establish and maintain connections with fashion journalists, editors, stylists, photographers, designers, and other industry professionals. Organize guest lectures, industry visits, and collaborations to provide students with exposure to real-world fashion communication and styling practices. Actively seek and secure industry projects, partnerships, and opportunities to enhance student learning and employability. Engage in personal and professional development through research, scholarly activities, to stay updated with current industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in fashion. Contribute to institutional activities, curriculum development, and academic committees as required.Preferred Attributes: Passion for teaching and mentoring students.
