We firmly be About the role: We are seeking a skilled and proactive System Administrator to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and securing our company's IT infrastructure, ensuring optimal system performance, and providing technical support to end-users. Key Responsibilities: Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, servers, and network devices to ensure optimal performance and reliability. Deploy and manage enterprise applications and software updates, ensuring compatibility and minimal disruption to operations. Continuously monitor system performance using advanced tools to proactively identify and resolve potential issues, minimising downtime. Analyse system logs and utilise diagnostic tools to troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network problems promptly. Implement and manage comprehensive security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and antivirus solutions, to protect against unauthorised access and threats. Conduct regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing to identify and mitigate risks. Develop, implement, and manage robust backup and disaster recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability in case of system failures or disasters. Regularly test backup and recovery procedures to validate their effectiveness and make necessary improvements. Administer user accounts, permissions, and access controls across various systems and applications, ensuring compliance with organisational policies. Conduct periodic reviews of user access levels to maintain security and compliance standards. Design, implement, and manage network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless networks, to ensure seamless connectivity and communication. Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimise configurations for efficiency and reliability. Manage and maintain cloud-based environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and virtualisation platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) to support scalable and flexible IT operations. Implement best practices for resource allocation, cost management, and security in virtualised and cloud environments. Develop, document, and enforce IT policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Stay updated with emerging technologies and regulatory changes to adjust policies and procedures accordingly. Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams, including developers, network engineers, and security specialists, to design and implement integrated solutions. Participate in project planning and execution, providing technical expertise and support as needed. Provide advanced technical support to employees, addressing complex hardware and software issues efficiently. Develop and conduct training sessions to educate users on new technologies, security practices, and system functionalities. Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, network diagrams, operational procedures, and incident reports. Generate regular reports on system performance, security incidents, and project progress for management review. Research and recommend innovative technologies and solutions to improve system efficiency, performance, and scalability. Implement automation scripts and tools to streamline routine tasks and reduce manual intervention. Required Skills & Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Proven experience as a System Administrator or similar role. Strong knowledge of Windows/Linux server environments. Experience with network administration, firewalls, and security protocols. Proficiency in virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.). Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus. Familiarity with database management (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server). Hands-on experience with scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash, Python) is preferred. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and documentation abilities. Preferred Qualifications: Industry certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, CompTIA Server+, or Cisco CCNA.
