Job Description

Role Title Head - Operations Primary Location - Vidyavihar Reports To - Director Direct Reports - 4 Experience - 20+ years #Insurance Experience Mandatory# Key Accountabilities: Operational Leadership: Oversee daily operations, including underwriting, policy issuance, customer service, and claims management. Develop and implement operational strategies to enhance efficiency, scalability, and customer experience. Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure operational excellence. New Product Development and Launch: Collaborate with product development, actuarial, and marketing teams to design and implement innovative insurance products. Ensure seamless integration of new products into existing operational workflows. Develop go-to-market strategies and operational plans for successful product launches. Stay updated on market trends and customer needs to identify opportunities for product diversification. Underwriting Excellence: Lead underwriting operations to ensure risk assessment aligns with company policies and profitability goals. Develop and implement underwriting guidelines, policies, and workflows. Monitor underwriting quality and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Leverage data analytics to refine underwriting practices and improve risk assessment models. Process Improvement and Technology Adoption: Drive process optimization initiatives across underwriting, policy administration, and claims to reduce costs and improve turnaround times. Lead automation and digital transformation projects to enhance operational efficiency and accuracy. Partner with IT teams to ensure operational systems meet business needs and regulatory requirements. Team Leadership and Development: Build and lead a high-performing operations team, ensuring continuous learning and development. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and customer-centricity. Establish succession planning and talent management strategies. Regulatory Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements related to underwriting and operational processes. Identify operational risks and implement mitigation strategies. Serve as a key point of contact for audits and regulatory inquiries. Customer - Liaising with Branches, Insurer and Assistance Company. Communication - Email and phone communication Technical Capability - MS office, Basic email and Internet Experience: 20+ years of experience in insurance operations, underwriting, or product management, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role. Proven experience in developing and launching new insurance products. Deep understanding of underwriting principles and regulatory frameworks. Skills: Strong leadership and people management abilities. Expertise in operational process design and improvement. Analytical mindset with proficiency in data-driven decision-making. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Proficiency in insurance software and digital tools. Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Insurance, Actuarial Science, or a related field (MBA preferred).
