YOUR TEAM: We currently have an exciting career opportunity for an Azure Virtual Desktop Engineer on our Information Technology team. This position will be based in Chennai, India. As an entry to mid-level professional, you will design, implement, and maintain Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) solutions for a 5,000-person financial services organization, ensuring top-tier performance, security, and user experience. YOUR OPPORTUNITY: As our Azure Virtual Desktop Engineer, you will be responsible for architecting and managing a large-scale AVD environment. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to assess network capacities, automate deployments, plan storage solutions, and guarantee the continuity of critical business services. Your expertise in Azure technologies will be vital to delivering a seamless end-user computing experience across our global footprint. YOUR ROLE: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Azure Virtual Desktop Design & Deployment: – Design and implement Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop solutions for a 5,000-person financial services organization. – Evaluate network capacity and speed requirements to ensure optimal performance and user experience. Automation & Host Pool Management: – Automate host pool, session host, and user session management using PowerShell and Azure CLI. – Create and manage session host images, leveraging tools such as Azure VM Image Builder to develop a “golden image.” Architecture & Storage Planning: – Recommend subscriptions, resource groups, and management groups to optimize resource utilization and governance. – Plan and implement storage solutions (e.g., FSLogix) for Azure Virtual Desktop user data, ensuring reliability and scalability. Identity & Security Integration: – Plan and implement identity integration strategies, structuring Azure AD DS and Microsoft Entra ID for performance. – Define and deploy robust security controls across the Azure Virtual Desktop environment, adhering to regulatory and best-practice frameworks. Business Continuity & Backup Strategy: – Plan, implement, and maintain comprehensive business continuity processes for Azure Virtual Desktop. – Design and execute backup strategies to ensure data integrity and swift recovery in the event of unforeseen incidents. User Experience & Support: – Choose the appropriate Azure Virtual Desktop clients and deployment methods to meet varying user needs. –Install, configure, and maintain business line applications in the Azure environment – Provide guidance on best practices for end-user computing, working with support teams to maintain seamless operations. YOUR EXPERIENCE: The successful candidate will have: Required Qualifications & Skills: – 3–5 years of experience with Azure technologies, particularly in designing and deploying virtual desktop solutions. – Strong focus on end-user computing experience, with proven ability to manage and optimize large-scale deployments. Preferred Qualifications: – Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field. – Azure certifications (e.g., AZ-104, AZ-140, or similar). YOUR COMPETENCIES: • Technical & Analytical Skills: – Comfort with scripting tools (PowerShell, Azure CLI) and experience troubleshooting complex cloud environments. • Communication & Collaboration: – Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with a global, cross-functional team. • Customer-Focused Approach: – Prioritizes user satisfaction and business continuity, ensuring a seamless virtual desktop environment. • Adaptability & Initiative: – Thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced setting, taking proactive steps to streamline processes and incorporate emerging technologies.
