Job Profile Summary The Manager, Local Liaison and CSR will serve as a key representative for the company at the local government level and within the surrounding communities in Thoothukudi. This role will be pivotal in fostering positive relationships with stakeholders, managing community outreach initiatives, and ensuring the successful execution of CSR projects aligned with the company’s core values and commitment to social responsibility. Job Description As part of the company’s efforts to build a strong local presence, you will be responsible for the following key tasks: Government Liaison & Compliance Management:- Build and maintain relationships with relevant government agencies in Thoothukudi, ensuring that you are well-versed in their workflows, policies, and procedures. Ensure the swift clearance of all company applications and regulatory requirements at the local level. Stay updated on local government regulations and anticipate changes that may impact the company’s operations. Ensure that all company activities comply with applicable laws and regulations and advise on corrective actions when needed. Community Engagement & Relationship Building:- Build strong, trusting relationships with local communities and stakeholders to gain their support on company initiatives and policy positions. Engage with local leaders and citizens to foster goodwill and alignment with company objectives. Develop and execute a strategic plan to ensure that the company is seen as a responsible and supportive corporate citizen within the community. Ensure the company’s CSR programs are aligned with local needs and executed in a timely manner. CSR Program Implementation & Management:- Conduct Needs Assessment Studies to identify impactful CSR projects that meet the community’s needs and align with the company’s values. Lead the implementation of CSR initiatives, ensuring they are delivered within the defined scope, time, and budget. Monitor and report on the progress of CSR programs, ensuring that they are making a measurable impact. Coordinate major events such as public hearings, community outreach programs, and special events to ensure smooth execution. Public Relations & Corporate Image:- Represent the company at local industry forums, community meetings, and public events, ensuring a consistent and professional corporate image. Cultivate and protect the company’s reputation within the local community, responding to concerns and proactively promoting the company’s achievements and contributions. Advocate for the company’s position on key policy and community issues, ensuring alignment with the company’s values and objectives. Cross-Functional Collaboration:- Work closely with other departments, such as Legal, Compliance, and Corporate Communications, to ensure alignment with company goals and regulations. Support leadership by providing insights into local regulatory matters and community concerns that may impact business strategy. Job Requirements 15-20 years of experience in external-facing roles, particularly in community engagement, government relations, or corporate social responsibility. Experience working in a multinational company or a complex regulatory environment is a plus. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with local stakeholders, government bodies, and internal teams. Excellent communication and negotiation abilities, particularly when working with diverse communities and government representatives. Ability to manage multiple CSR projects simultaneously, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget. Proven track record of cultivating a positive corporate image within local communities. In-depth understanding of local government structures, policies, and the regulatory environment in Thoothukudi and surrounding regions. Familiarity with CSR best practices, including needs assessments, program design, and impact measurement. Affable and approachable with an ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people. Strong reputation within the local community, with a demonstrated commitment to social responsibility and ethical business practices. Fluent in Tamil (spoken and reading), with a deep understanding of the cultural and social dynamics of the region. Candidates from Southern Tamil Nadu are preferred due to a deeper understanding of local customs and community dynamics.
