Job Profile Summary The Manager, Environment Engineering will play a critical role in ensuring that the company’s operations are fully compliant with environmental regulations, obtaining necessary environmental clearances, and ensuring the company’s commitment to sustainable and environmentally responsible practices. This role will involve managing relationships with regulatory bodies and internal teams to ensure smooth execution of environmental projects. Job Descriptions As part of the company’s efforts to establish a large-scale operation in Thoothukudi, you will be responsible for the following key areas: Environmental Clearance & Compliance Management:- Lead the process of obtaining Environmental Clearance for the company’s operations and ensure timely and effective completion of all required procedures. Coordinate with internal teams, government agencies, and external consultants to ensure that all environmental permissions and clearances are obtained efficiently and in compliance with local and national laws. Ensure that the company’s operations adhere to all applicable environmental and safety laws and best practices. Stakeholder Coordination & Relationship Management:- Manage relationships with government agencies, regulatory bodies, and other external stakeholders involved in environmental matters. Work closely with internal departments (e.g., Operations, Safety, Legal, and Compliance) to ensure smooth communication and collaboration on environmental issues. Foster cooperative relationships with local authorities, environmental agencies, and industry groups to maintain a positive reputation for the company. Regulatory Awareness & Risk Management:- Stay updated on the latest environmental regulations, standards, and best practices relevant to the industry and region. Anticipate regulatory changes and communicate their potential impact to internal stakeholders, ensuring that the company remains proactive in adapting to changes. Identify environmental risks related to operations and propose mitigation measures to ensure compliance and minimize environmental impact. Environmental Training & Awareness:- Ensure that all internal colleagues are well-informed about relevant environmental laws, regulations, and best practices. Conduct internal training sessions and workshops to raise awareness about environmental issues and safety standards. Promote a culture of environmental responsibility within the company, ensuring that sustainability is integrated into daily operations. Industry Representation & Corporate Image:- Represent the company at industry forums, regulatory meetings, and other public events focused on environmental issues. Ensure that the company’s conduct at these forums is in line with the highest corporate standards and reflects the company’s commitment to environmental responsibility. Job Requirements 15-20 years of experience in Environmental Engineering and Management, with hands-on experience in handling Environmental Clearance processes. Proven track record in managing Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and ensuring compliance with environmental laws. Thorough knowledge of environmental laws, regulations, and best practices in India and the region. Strong ability to coordinate and communicate with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring timely and accurate information exchange. Ability to manage multiple projects, ensuring deadlines are met while maintaining high standards of compliance and safety. Relevant graduate and post-graduate qualifications in Environmental Engineering or a related field. In-depth understanding of the Environmental Clearance process, including familiarity with Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and relevant documentation. Strong understanding of environmental regulations related to industrial operations, sustainability practices, and safety standards. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with government bodies, regulatory agencies, and internal teams. Proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of working under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
