Position Summary:As a Render Wrangler, you will play a key role in building and maintaining the studio’s global CGI rendering environment. Render Wranglers serve as a bridge between artists and infrastructure, ensuring that creative outputs are being generated efficiently and to the demanding standards of the artists that submitted the jobs.Essential Responsibilities, Accountabilities & ResultsCollaborate with Pipeline leadership to set, and adhere to, team standards.Monitoring and queue management to effectively utilize resources, diagnose issues, and maximize throughput.Support and troubleshooting to identify root causes of errors, and to provide feedback to various teams to ensure that issues are addressed going forward.Validation of jobs to ensure completion, that there are no incomplete images or artifacts in the output.Optimization of submissions to maintain quality and efficiency while also keeping costs down.Communication with colleagues, artists, and stakeholders regarding any issues discovered/diagnosed so that expectations are managed accordingly.Telemetry and reporting within Deadline to provide artists and stakeholders with relevant information on farm utilization, costs, etc.Write and maintain clear documentation.Other duties as assigned.Educational & Experience Minimum RequirementsThis position requires the following knowledge and skills:High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Graphics, Game Development, or equivalent education and/or experience may be considered.Experience with AWS Thinkbox Deadline render management toolkit a must.Familiarity with other render management tools a plus.Familiarity with CGI production tools such as Maya, Unreal Engine, Houdini, Nuke a must.Understanding CGI processes and production workflow.Experience with digital asset management systems like Flow or ftrack are a plus.Knowledge of Python and other development languages a plus.Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, resources effectively, and able to prioritize tasks, create schedules and keep track of various project elements.Excellent communication skills, to effectively liaise with stakeholders.Problem solving skills to identify issues, analyze causes and develop effective solutions.
