Primary Functions: Data Pipeline Development: Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for ingesting, processing, and transforming social media data from various sources. API Management: Develop and manage robust API integrations with platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, X (Twitter), TikTok, LinkedIn, and other social media data sources. Development of Custom Analytics Models: Create custom metrics/models that are tailored to showcase business impact of social activity. Real-Time Data Streaming: Set up and manage real-time data processing pipelines using tools such as Apache Kafka or Spark Streaming. Data Quality Assurance: Implement rigorous validation processes to ensure social data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across all datasets. Data Integration: Consolidate data from various platforms into centralized databases, ensuring seamless integration into marketing dashboards and analytics tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Quid). Data Visualization and Dashboard: Set up and integrating data visualization tools Tableau for custom dashboards to facilitate reporting and self-serve capabilities. Collaboration: Work closely with data scientists, analysts, marketers, and software engineers to provide clean, structured datasets for analysis and reporting. Monitoring & Optimization: Monitor pipeline performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize data workflows for efficiency and scalability. What You Need to Succeed (Minimum Qualifications): Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. 3+ years of experience in data engineering or a similar role, preferably working with social media data. Proficiency in Python and SQL Experience with pipeline development and management. Familiarity with developing custom analytics models and machine learning models Hands-on experience integrating with APIs Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and tools Basic understanding of data privacy regulations and best practices for data security. Exceptional collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to translate business needs into effective dashboard solutions. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment. Familiarity with Marketing and concepts, including performance metrics, and Marketing technology platforms Expertise with Tableau and dashboard development for visualizing data insights. What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications): Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related technical field. Familiarity with Marketing and Social analytics concepts, including performance metrics and social technology platforms Familiarity with cloud-based data environments such as AWS Aurora or Redshift. Prior experience in airline, hospitality or travel industry analytics is a plus. Understanding of natural language processing (NLP) concepts to support sentiment data quality improvements. Experience working specifically with social media analytics and integrating data from platforms like Facebook, X, Instagram or TikTok Familiarity with real-time data streaming tools such as Apache Kafka or Google Dataflow. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex data issues. Experience working in an agile development environment and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
