Role Overview The Vice President – Enabling and Emerging Technologies is a key leadership role responsible for identifying, evaluating, and implementing technologies that drive innovation, efficiency, and competitive advantage. This role will define and execute the strategy for integrated platforms and technologies that digitize, digitalize, and digitally transform enabling functions such as HR, Sales, and Marketing. This role will oversee the emerging technologies CoE that is responsible for accelerating digital transformation and business value creation through AI, Automation, AR/VR, IoT, Low Code and other cutting-edge technologies. This role will bridge the business and IT function and oversee the delivery of business demands and requirements by the respective Tech leads and delivery teams for HR, Sales, Marketing and Emerging Tech CoE. Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership Anticipate future business needs and technological advancements that can be leveraged to enhance ELGi’s business goals. Develop and lead the vision and strategy for enabling areas and emerging technologies, aligning them with the organization’s business and digital transformation goals. Identify, assess, and prioritize emerging technology trends (e.g., AI/ML, IoT, Industry 4.0, blockchain, quantum computing etc.) and their applicability to ELGi’s business function areas. Evaluate market trends and emerging technologies, assessing their potential impact on ELGi and recommend adoption strategies. Drive the integration of enabling technologies with existing IT systems and business processes, ensuring scalability, interoperability, and security. Systems Strategy and Roadmap Work with the HR, Sales & Marketing function teams to develop and implement the technology strategy, ensuring alignment of business objectives and digital transformation goals. Define and maintain the HR, Sales & Marketing technology roadmap, prioritizing system upgrades, process enhancements, and integration requirements. System Implementation and Optimization Lead the implementation, configuration, and customization of HR management systems (e.g., SAP Success Factors, ADP, Oracle HCM, Workday, Darwinbox, Infor HR etc.,). Lead the implementation, configuration, and customization of Sales & Marketing platforms (e.g., CRM & Marketing platforms – Salesforce, HubSpot, MS Dynamics, Fresh Marketer, Zoho etc.,). Manage HRMS integrations with other enterprise systems such as ERP, Expenses Management, LKM, and performance management platforms. Manage Sales & Marketing platforms integrations with other enterprise systems such as ERP, Customer portals, dealer portals, etc. Oversee system upgrades, maintenance, and enhancements to ensure scalability, performance, and usability. Drive the migration from legacy systems to modern solutions, ensuring minimal business disruption. Oversee delivery of new features, customization, incident response and fixes for HRMS, Sales & Marketing systems. Collaborate with business units to identify new demands and ensure timely delivery of requirements by respective tech leads and development teams. Oversee system architecture, integration, governance, and enhancements, aligning solutions with business goals to enable faster time-to-market, cost efficiency, and improved product quality. Emerging Technology CoE - Innovation and Adoption Oversee the exploration, prototyping, and deployment of emerging technologies such as AI, ML, IoT, blockchain, AR/VR, automation, and 3D simulation etc. Collaborate with business units to identify use cases for new technologies, demonstrating their value through proof of concepts (POCs) and pilot projects. Foster a culture of experimentation and innovation, encouraging teams to explore unconventional solutions to business challenges. Oversee ongoing experimentation and campus internship initiatives for emerging technology pilots and POCs. Drive the adoption of modern development practices, including agile methodologies, DevOps, and microservices architectures. Lead cross-functional teams to implement digital platforms, intelligent automation, and advanced analytics solutions. Promote the adoption of cloud-native architectures, SaaS solutions, and composable technologies to increase agility and reduce time-to-market. Develop and implement best practices, processes, and frameworks for CoE performance management. Track and report CoE performance through KPIs, ROI, and outcome-based measurement. Collaborate with C-suite, business leaders, and IT teams to ensure alignment of CoE initiatives with business objectives. Promote the adoption of open-source tools, IoT solutions, and low-code platforms to reduce TCO (Total Cost of Ownership). Governance and Risk Management Establish governance frameworks to ensure emerging technology initiatives align with enterprise standards, regulatory requirements, and security best practices. Develop metrics and KPIs to track the performance, ROI, and business impact of technology investments. Assess and mitigate risks associated with the adoption of emerging technologies, ensuring data privacy, security, and compliance. Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration Act as a trusted advisor to the executive leadership team on the strategic value and impact of enabling and emerging technologies. Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, external technology vendors, and research institutions to stay ahead of industry trends. Represent the organization at industry events, fostering partnerships and promoting the company’s leadership in technology innovation. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, R&D, and business leaders, to co-create technology-driven solutions. Maintain strong partnerships with technology vendors, start-ups, and industry bodies to stay ahead of trends and innovations. Team Leadership and Development Build and lead a high-performing team focused on emerging technologies, innovation, and digital transformation. Mentor and develop talent within the organization, fostering technical excellence and a culture of continuous learning. Promote collaboration across IT and business teams to maximize the impact of technology initiatives. Skills Proven knowledge HR Tech, Sales Tech and Marketing Tech platforms. Deep understanding of emerging technologies such as AI/ML, IoT, blockchain, AR/VR, Robotic Process Automation (RPA), 3D simulation etc. Knowledge in Low Code platforms, UI/UX concepts and Open-Source development tools. Expertise in integrating technologies into existing IT ecosystems and driving large-scale technology transformation projects. Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and data governance principles in the context of emerging technologies. Proven ability to define and execute a technology strategy that drives business value and competitive differentiation. Strong leadership skills with experience in managing cross-functional teams and complex projects in a matrixed environment. Visionary mindset with the ability to translate emerging trends into actionable strategies and roadmaps. Strong problem-solving capabilities to address complex technical and organizational challenges. Exceptional communication and presentation skills to articulate the value of emerging technologies to executive stakeholders and business leaders. Experience 15+ years of experience in IT leadership roles, with a focus on HR Tech, Sales Tech, Marketing Tech, emerging technologies, innovation, and digital transformation. Proven track record of successfully implementing cutting-edge technologies in a global enterprise environment. Experience in leading large-scale technology transformation projects. Experience in building and delivering business demands and requirements for digital enablement. Experience in the manufacturing industry or similar domains is preferred.
