It is a backbone organization that matches funders with credible & capable implementation partners (NGOs) and helps deliver impact at scale for the most pressing animal welfare issues.In the last 3 years, IAF has enabled funding in excess of Rs 25 crores for 25+ NGOs and has enabled incubation or entry of more than 7 organizations in the movement. IAF’s vision is to significantly scale up funding for the movement and ensure that more philanthropists and corporates invest in the animal justice movement including the severely under-funded farmed animals’ segment. A crucial area is to build donor trust by continuously sharpening the M&E processes for the projects enabled by IAF.The Board is looking for a dynamic individual who can build scale and significantly grow IAF over the next 3-5 years.Notes:This is a work from home role to begin with but may be subject to change in future.10-15% travel – both domestic and international. This role requires a visionary leader with experience in non-profit management, strategic planning, and advocacy for animal rights. The CEO will be responsible for overseeing all aspectsof the organization, including program development, fundraising, stakeholder engagement, and advocacy efforts.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership:Develop and implement the strategic plan to enhance the organization's mission and goals.Foster a culture of collaboration and teamwork among staff, volunteers, and partner organizations.Serve as the primary spokesperson for the organization, promoting its vision and values.Be able to engage with CXOs at ease, navigate through complex hierarchies, corporate environments and build strategic relationships.Be motived from within to work for animals, use IAF as the means to make a meaningful impact on the lives of animals and the way people see animals.Program Development:Be able to contribute to projects focused on animal welfare, including initiatives addressing street dogs, dairy cows, layer birds, pigs, animals in labour, experimentation etc.Collaborate with experts and organizations in health, climate change, and sustainability to build a robust support network.Be current with policies, regulations, market realities, trends and statistics on related matters.Fundraising and Financial Management:Develop and implement fundraising strategies to secure financial resources for the organization's initiatives.Cultivate relationships with donors, sponsors, and funding organizations.Be aware of the workings of family trusts & foundations, opportunities to tap into CSR, and be able to guide organisations on their path to optimizing CSR funds.Prepare and manage the annual budget, ensuring financial health and sustainability.Communication and Public Relations:Oversee the development of a comprehensive communication strategy, including media outreach and public engagement.Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of communication efforts, adjusting strategies as needed.Promote the organization's achievements and impact through various media channels.Be immaculate in building communication aids like proposals, presentations, blogs and articles.Be a good speaker and be able to hold audience in webinars, discussions, events and pitches.Team Management:Recruit, develop, and manage a diverse team of staff and volunteers.Foster an inclusive and motivating workplace culture that encourages professional growth and commitment to the organization's mission.Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide ongoing support to team.QualificationsEducation: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; advanced degree preferred (e.g., MBA, master’s in public policy, disciplines related to animals).Experience: Minimum of 10 years of leadership experience in non-profit management, animal welfare, or related fields.Skills:Good understanding of animal welfare issues and the working ecosystem.Proven track record in fundraising, strategic planning, and programs execution.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders, public speaking skills important.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Proficient in social media and digital communication strategies, be tech savvy and eager to test out new platforms, formats, technologies & solutions.Personal Attributes:Passionate about animal welfare and social justice.Forward thinker with a collaborative leadership style.Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.Commitment to the values and mission of India Animal Fund.If this role excites you, please apply to resume@
