Job Opening: Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) - US Hours Coverage Location: Remote Shift: 8 AM - 8 PM EST (US Timezone Coverage) Overview: ReturnKey is an early-stage startup backed by leading VCs, revolutionizing zero-waste retail in the US. We're tackling the country's massive retail returns and overstock problem with our cutting-edge AI-powered Recommerce platform. By applying advanced data and automation, we optimize inventory disposition in real time to maximize recovery value and throughput while reducing waste. Through our reverse logistics software and rapidly expanding network of extreme value retail outlets, we're bringing high-quality returned and close-out products directly to consumers at unbeatable prices—reshaping the future of retail with data-driven efficiency. The Opportunity: We are looking for a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to provide Level 1 support for our Recommerce Management System (RMS) while our primary development team in Indonesia is offline. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, familiarity with observability tools, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues independently. Responsibilities ● Active Monitoring & Incident Response: Monitor system health using observability tools (Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.).● Troubleshooting & Support: Act as the first point of contact for system issues, diagnosing and resolving problems or escalating when necessary.● Service Management: Restart services, containers, and related infrastructure as needed.● Workarounds & Temporary Fixes: Identify and implement workarounds for known issues to support the US-based team.● Documentation & Runbooks: Maintain clear documentation for common issues and solutions to improve response efficiency. ● Collaboration: Communicate effectively with both US team members and Indonesiandevelopers to ensure smooth handovers and issue tracking. Requirements ● 2+ years of experience as an SRE, DevOps Engineer, or similar role. ● Proficiency in AWS services (EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, ECS, IAM, etc.).● Experience with observability tools (Datadog preferred, or similar like Grafana,Prometheus, CloudWatch).● Familiarity with Terraform for infrastructure-as-code management (preferred).● Experience with Docker containers and containerized deployments.● Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to identify root causes quickly.● Ability to work independently and make decisions in a high-ownership environment.● Excellent written and spoken English for effective communication with global teams. Nice-to-Have Skills ● Experience with scripting languages like Python, Bash, or Shell scripting.● Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and basic debugging of deployments.● Prior experience in e-commerce, logistics, or inventory management systems. Why Join Us? ● Work in a high-impact role, ensuring platform stability during critical US hours.● Opportunity to work with a globally distributed team.● Gain experience in a fast-paced, tech-driven recommerce environment.● Competitive compensation and flexible remote work setup.
