Vertical : Technology & Growth Advisory Role: Manager - Operations Location: Bangalore, India Set-up: Hybrid (4 Days WFO+ 1 Day WFH) Reporting to: Senior Manager/AVP Desired Exp: 5 - 8 years Execution Experience and 3-5 years People Management | Total experience: 7-10 years Role Overview : As Manager, you will: Join the dynamic Technology & Growth Advisory (TGA) team at Hourglass Research , where you will spearhead transformative projects in the FMCG and Cross-domain industry. As a Manager at Hourglass Research , you will play a pivotal role in leading and managing accounts/clients within our Technology & Growth Advisory (TGA) team. You will oversee complex, cross-functional initiatives in the FMCG and Cross-domain industries , driving both strategic direction and operational execution. In this leadership position, you will be responsible for guiding teams through the entire project lifecycle—from initial ideation and strategy formulation to final delivery—while ensuring the highest levels of quality , efficiency , and client satisfaction . Your ability to manage resources, timelines, and client expectations will be crucial to delivering outstanding results. Job description : As a Manager at Hourglass Research , you will take on a leadership role in managing and executing strategic project engagements for our Technology & Growth Advisory (TGA) team. Your responsibilities will include: Leading and overseeing large-scale project engagements from inception to completion, ensuring alignment with client goals and expectations, and overseeing all phases of execution. Developing and presenting comprehensive proposals , tailored to client objectives, ensuring that solutions are innovative, actionable, and result driven. Collaborating with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to provide accurate project estimations, resource allocation, and timelines. Collaborating in revenue targets and budgets , ensuring projects are delivered within scope, on time, and within budget, while meeting high-quality standards. Guiding and mentoring project teams , setting clear goals and driving team performance to deliver exceptional results. Maintaining continuous communication with clients , ensuring that client needs are met, expectations are managed, and relationships are nurtured throughout the project lifecycle. Identifying, assessing, and mitigating project risks , proactively addressing any challenges that arise to maintain smooth project flow. Generating thought leadership content , such as industry decks, whitepapers, and other business development collateral to support Hourglass Research’s market positioning and growth. Driving internal process improvements , ensuring adherence to Hourglass Research policies , best practices, and industry standards across all project activities. Contributing to business development efforts , identifying opportunities for future engagements and new capabilities, and supporting the development of client relationships. Desired Skillset : · Expertise in Science and Technology: In-depth knowledge of any FMCG domain, Sciences, Technologies, Commercial aspects, or regulations. · Market Insight: Strong understanding of FMCG industry trends, consumer preferences, and market dynamics. · Market Research: Expertise in Market Research Methodologies: In-depth knowledge of both qualitative and quantitative research methods, including surveys, focus groups, interviews, and advanced data analytics. Education/Professional Qualification and Work Experience : ·Must have: Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering, including disciplines such as Food Science, Food Technology, Biotechnology, Biology, Chemistry, Chemical or Material Engineering, Material Science, and related fields ·Must have: Master's degree (MSc or MTech) in Food Science, Food Technology or above-mentioned domains, Strategy, Management, Business Administration, or a relevant discipline. ·Must have: Effective and Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage with senior-level clients, stakeholders, and team members effectively. Strong presentation skills are critical to ensure you can articulate complex concepts, deliver project updates, and influence decision-making across teams. The ability to tailor communication to different audiences, both technical and non-technical, is essential for success in this role. ·Must Have: Proven experience in the FMCG sector or cross-domain industries (such as Automotive, Biotech, Pharmaceuticals, or Consumer Goods), ideally with 5-7 years in a management role or a similar capacity. You should demonstrate a deep understanding of industry-specific challenges, trends, and opportunities. · Must Have: A track record of leading cross-functional teams and managing large-scale, multi-phase projects, with experience in end-to-end project delivery (from ideation and strategy formulation to execution and client delivery). ·Must Have: In-depth knowledge of FMCG and Cross-domain industry trends, regulatory frameworks, and best practices, including an understanding of consumer behavior, market dynamics, and the regulatory landscape that impacts product development, manufacturing, and distribution in these sectors. ·Must have: Expertise in project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, Lean) and team development strategies to foster collaboration, enhance productivity, and ensure continuous improvement across project teams.
