President Reshef’s TED Talk and Nas Daily interview about the University have 30 million views combined.REPORTS TO: Leigh Anne Gearhiser GENERAL PURPOSE: The Course Developer (CD) works closely with the Instructional Design (ID) team to maintain current course materials, including modifying, improving, uploading, and updating online course content to the Learning Management System to create engaging and effective learning experiences for our students. This individual is also responsible for collaborating with the LMS administration team as it relates to improvements or changes to style guides, testing and vetting plugins, and process documentation to ensure proper execution of all look-and-feel and user experience elements. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES: Develops and updates course content using a variety of media, including video, audio, graphics, and interactive elements. Uploads course information to the institution's Learning Management System (LMS) Works closely with instructional designers to ensure that courses meet best practices for online learning and are accessible to all learners. Tests and debugs courses to ensure they function properly across multiple devices and platforms. Ensures application and integration of appropriate teaching and learning theory and distance learning principles into a online course development process. Provides technical assistance and support to instructors when necessary. Consistently researches new online learning tools and technologies and incorporates them into course development. Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in education, instructional design, or related field preferred, but not required. Relevant certifications in education and/or educational technology are acceptable. 1 years’ experience required. Fluency in languages is a plus, specifically Arabic and Spanish. Proficient understanding of Learning Management Systems, Moodle preferred. Web development skills (HTML, CSS, etc.). Video creation and video editing skills, and image creation/image editing skills. Ability to pay close attention to detail. Ability to manage time, projects, and resources to achieve goals. Excellent written and oral communication skills in English. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
