This critical role involves overseeing all aspects of financial management, from accounting and reporting to strategic planning and compliance, while collaborating closely with the CEO and external partners.Key Responsibilities - What you’ll be doing:Prepare and oversee UK-style management accounts.Conduct in-depth analysis of assets and liabilities to provide strategic insights.Ensure timely and accurate completion of all expense processes.Manage VAT returns and ensure compliance with relevant tax regulations.Handle purchase order (PO) creation and assist the CEO with expense tracking.Utilise Xero for accounting tasks and reporting.Develop and maintain cash flow forecasts and models to guide financial planning.Collaborate with the CEO and UK-based internal and external finance team to align financial strategies with business objectives.Manage ad hoc administrative tasks, such as creating Docusign envelopes and contracts.Requirements - What you’ll need to succeed:Proven experience in accounting and financial reporting, with several years in senior-level financial roles.Experience in project accounting and working with non-finance team members to prepare project budgets and cash projections.Expertise in creating UK-style management accounts and handling complex financial analyses.Strong proficiency in Xero and other financial management software.Advanced analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.Excellent communication skills for presenting complex financial information to stakeholders, including non-financial staff.Demonstrated leadership and management abilities, including experience implementing process improvements.Strong problem-solving skills with a forward-looking, strategic mindset.Proven ability to develop and monitor budgets aligned with company objectives.Commitment to ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards.Exceptional organisational and multitasking abilities.Experience in cost management and identifying areas for efficiency improvements.Ability to work collaboratively with internal departments and external stakeholders, including auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies.Experience in manufacturing, engineering, or technology businesses is preferred.
