The candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting the mental well-being and psychological development of our athletes. Working closely with a multi-disciplinary team, you will be responsible for implementing psychological strategies to enhance performance, fostering mental resilience, and ensuring a supportive environment for athletes at all levels. With its main campus in Vijayanagar, Karnataka, and satellite centers in Hisar (Haryana), Himachal Pradesh, Manipur, and Odisha, IIS integrates state-of-the-art facilities, cutting-edge sports science, and top-tier coaching expertise from around the globe to support India’s athletes in their pursuit of excellence.Responsibilities:Lead the development and execution of sport psychology strategies and policies at IIS.Conduct psychological assessments, deliver tailored support, and monitor athletes’ progress in training and competition settings.Contribute to individual athlete development plans in collaboration with coaches, aligning with training and performance goals.Advise coaches on incorporating psychological development into performance plans and training sessions.Develop and oversee the sport’s mental health strategy, including psychological screening, clinical referrals, and care-plan implementation.Provide specialized support for female athlete health, addressing challenges such as identity, eating disorders, competitive stress, injury, burnout, and substance use.Actively attend training sessions and competitions, ensuring availability and psychological support for athletes.Education/Qualifications/Experience:Master’s degree (or equivalent) in psychology (e.g., Sport, Clinical, Organizational, Neuropsychology) or a related field.Minimum of 5 years’ experience in high-performance sport across various sports or levels of the athlete pathway.Proven track record of delivering successful sport psychology interventions.Expertise in planning, periodizing, and managing athletes across seasons to achieve medal-winning performances (or equivalent).Strong knowledge of various sport psychology methods and clinical awareness.To apply for this position please email Samuel.pullinger@ with a CV and cover letter by 15th of February 2024.
