Roles and Responsibilities Establish and monitor chemical and physical properties of all metals poured to meet customer specifications and governing standards. Establish and monitor sand properties to produce castings free from defects Establish and audit pouring temperatures and practices to ensure good quality castings Responsible for improving quality relating to sand or metallurgical defects Establish Processes for controlling Metallurgical defects by evaluating material and equipment evaluations. Co-ordinate with Foundry lab and Melting process for ensuring consistent production of quality Metal and control of Foundry Sand systems, gating systems Process Audits for ensuring that required Castings are produced as per technical specifications Instruct and train Engineers/ Managers for ensuring that desired we produce and sustain the products consistently with right technical specifications at right price Monitoring and Improving the energy cost per piece Monitoring and Improving the conversion cost per piece Monitoring of Critical / special processes (Compliance to Customer as well as Quality / IATF Requirement) Defining and Driving Productivity Improvement Program Co-Ordination with Planning / Logistic / Sales for monthly part delivery Production Practices Benchmarking and implementation of strategic actions Supporting 5S and Safety Culture development program Work Experience Requirements 8 to 10 Years experience in leading shell sand and green sand foundry operations. Knowledge of chilled grey cast iron and ductile iron casting process. Knowledge of Shell Sand and Green Sand Foundry processes
