Key Job Responsibilities : Operation 1 EHS Program Management Organise and manage the unit’s EHS programs. Set EHS objectives and targets with the management. Ensure workplace safety and devise monitoring system to audit the level of safety. Ensure that EHS activity comply with the statutory requirements as applicable. Ensure that departmental EHS meetings are held in an effective manner and present progress of action taken to the management. 2 Safety Inspection To inspect all or part of premises daily to ensure human safety. To carry out a full EHS inspection at least once in three months. To inspect and approve any new installation, premises or work practices. To inspect and approve any new equipment ordered for the unit from a safety standpoint. Investigate all accidents and near miss incidents with corrective actions. Maintain accident records. Administering First aid if needed Make monthly summary of injury /damages and inspection reports to the management. Inspect fire equipment, PPEs and tools. Inspect first aid records on a weekly basis. 3 Emergency preparedness and training Ensure EHS training is imparted effectively to all the employees Personally monitor emergency planning & evacuation drills quarterly Track legislation of EHS both at Central and state level. 4 Waste Management Ensure safe disposal of waste generated at site as per the Categories of waste as bio- medical, hazardous and non- hazardous with recyclability, non- recyclable but biodegradable, non- recyclable & non- biodegradable. Prepare and maintain lists of all waste & their quantities in the unit Periodically review the waste collection, segregation, measurement and recycling & disposal system. Should ensure that unit complies with the statutes related to wastes and create awareness in all employees regarding the same. Ensure that the person employed on handling and treatment of wastes in adequately trained, provided with necessary PPE and their health status is monitored.
