Position - Pro VC/Dean Academic Affairs Location - Shimla, Himachal Pradesh Strategic leadership in curriculum development, faculty management, and academic policy implementation. Ensure high academic standards, accreditation compliance, and continuous improvement in teaching and research. The role involves fostering innovation in pedagogy, student success initiatives, and faculty development. Additionally, collaborate with university leadership to align academic programs with institutional goals and industry needs. 1. Product Development (Courses and Programs) ● New Product Development : Design new programs and courses aligned with industry needs , emerging technologies, and global standards. ● Product Improvement : Regularly update existing programs to meet global benchmarks and maintain relevance with industry and accreditation requirements . ● Integrate specialized certifications , industry-demanded skills, and emerging technologies (e.g., AI, Blockchain, Data Science). ● Focus on creating interdisciplinary programs for better employability and innovation. 2. Research and Development (R&D) ● Establish research centers of excellence in collaboration with industry and academic partners. ● Encourage faculty and students to pursue innovative research projects aligned with industry and societal needs. ● Drive initiatives to secure patents , publish high-impact research papers , and foster technology transfer opportunities. 3. Entrepreneurship Development ● Foster an entrepreneurial ecosystem through incubation centers and mentorship programs. ● Collaborate with startups, industry, and venture capitalists to guide students in business creation . ● Organize hackathons, business plan competitions, and entrepreneurship training programs . 4. Infrastructure Development ● Develop and maintain state-of-the-art labs, classrooms, and research facilities to support product development, R&D, and entrepreneurship. ● Upgrade facilities to meet accreditation and industry standards, such as smart classrooms, technology hubs , and coworking spaces for startups. 5. Graduate Employability and Placements ● Ensure students are job-ready through a strong focus on skill-based learning, internships, and placements. ● Build a robust placement ecosystem to connect students with top-tier companies . ● Establish structured pre-placement training , career counseling, and mentorship programs. 6. HR Delivery Improvement ● Achieve and maintain ideal faculty cadre ratios and qualifications (e.g., PhDs, industry experience). ● Implement regular Faculty Development Programs (FDPs) to enhance teaching and research capabilities. ● Replace underperforming or non-standard faculty with qualified and industry-aligned educators to ensure academic excellence. ● Retain top-performing faculty through performance-based incentives and professional development opportunities. 7. Qualification - PhD Experience - 20+ years of experience in higher education, including 7 Years of leadership roles such as Dean, Director. Must have worked as Dean of Academic Affairs for 5 Years.
