Job Title: Area Sales Manager (ASM) Industry: Building Materials (Cement, Paint, Tiles, etc.) Location: Tiruchy Reports to: Regional Sales Manager / Sales Head Job Overview: The Area Sales Manager (ASM) will be responsible for both primary and secondary sales within the assigned territory. This role involves managing a sales team, developing and expanding channel sales, and ensuring the achievement of sales targets for building materials such as cement, paint, tiles, etc. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of experience in sales within the building materials industry and a proven track record of successfully managing teams and driving sales. Key Responsibilities: Primary and Secondary Sales Management: Manage both primary and secondary sales in the assigned territory to achieve sales targets. Team Management: Lead, guide, and mentor the sales team to ensure consistent performance and achievement of targets. Channel Sales Development: Develop and expand the distribution network by building strong relationships with channel partners such as dealers, distributors, retailers, and contractors. Sales Planning & Execution: Implement sales strategies to drive business growth, monitor sales performance, and take corrective actions as needed. Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain long-term relationships with key stakeholders in the industry, including clients and channel partners. Market Intelligence: Monitor competitor activities and market trends to identify new business opportunities and stay ahead of the competition. Sales Reporting: Provide regular sales performance reports to senior management, outlining achievements, challenges, and action plans. Customer Support: Ensure timely resolution of customer complaints and provide after-sales support to improve customer satisfaction. Training & Development: Train and motivate the sales team on product knowledge, sales techniques, and market trends. Requirements: Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in sales within the building materials industry (Cement, Paint, Tiles, etc.). Sales & Team Management: Proven experience in managing both primary and secondary sales as well as leading and developing a sales team. Channel Sales Expertise: Strong experience in building and expanding channel sales (dealers, distributors, etc.) and a deep understanding of distribution networks. Educational Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (MBA is a plus). Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Strong leadership and team-building capabilities. Deep understanding of building materials products, market dynamics, and customer needs. Ability to drive sales growth and meet targets.
