Our mission is to empower organisations with the tools and resources needed to create transformative social impact.Role OverviewWe are seeking a dynamic and entrepreneurial Finance Lead to lead our finance function, drive strategic financial initiatives, and ensure regulatory compliance. This role demands a seasoned finance professional who can navigate the challenges of a young, lean organisation, providing practical and sustainable solutions. As a key member of the leadership team, the Head of Finance will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial strategy and operational efficiency of the organisation.Key Responsibilities1. Strategic Financial LeadershipLead the finance and accounting function for Arthan, Climate Asia and EquiLead.Develop and implement a robust financial strategy aligned with the organisation’s goals.Collaborate with the leadership and fundraising teams to provide budgetary analysis and financial insights for grant proposals and funding initiatives.Identify gaps in financial processes and design practical, sustainable solutions to address them.2. Financial Operations ManagementOversee all financial operations, including payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and cash flow management.Streamline and automate existing financial processes, transitioning into more cohesive systems.Ensure accuracy and timeliness in financial reporting and data management.3. Compliance and Regulatory OversightManage compliance and regulatory requirements for a 501(c)(3) registered organisation in India, India non-profit and India private limited. Ensure adherence to taxation laws, including GST and other applicable financial regulations.Prepare and present audit reports, maintaining transparency and accountability.4. Financial Planning & Analysis and ReportingDeliver detailed financial reports to provide insights into organisational performance and operational efficiency.Drive budgeting, forecasting, and scenario planning to support strategic decision-making.Track financial metrics and KPIs, ensuring all financial planning activities are data-driven, measurable, and tied to the organisational mission.5. Team Leadership and DevelopmentBuild and lead a lean, high-performing finance team that is outcome driven.Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement within the team.QualificationsEducationBachelor’s degree in Finance, Commerce, or a related field; advanced degrees (CA/CPA/MBA) strongly preferred.Experience12–15 years of experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.Proven experience in lean, entrepreneurial setups, preferably in the social impact or nonprofit sector.
