The Tata Group operates in more than 100 countries across six continents, with the mission 'To improve the quality of life of the communities we serve globally, through long term stakeholder value creation based on leadership with TrustJob Description:To meet the human capital needs of TEPL Dholera Fab in Gujarat, TEPL, in partnership with the state of Gujarat, has planned to establish the National Workforce Center of Excellence (COE) at IIT Gandhinagar. The COE will train diploma and BE students to become the core workforce of our Dholera Fab. We are seeking a Semiconductor front-end manufacturing expert (FEOL) interested in helping us to build out the program, train students and help develop the curriculum. Core Responsibilities:Main responsibility is setting up lab, developing a core curriculum and training manpower (Process Engineers, Equipment Engineers, Production control Engineers, Equipment Technicians, Process Technicisms, Manufacturing Technicians and Facilities Technicians etc.) in accordance with the needs of TEPL.To develop the Equipment Technician pool for semiconductors in India, the Professor of Practice will work with Equipment Suppliers, IIT Gandhinagar and Secondary Institutions (including local community colleges and trade schools) to develop a curriculum wherein the basics of electronics, software, vacuum, plasma and lithography are taught - including maintenance, troubleshooting and repair. This will include setting up a lab where equipment can be dismantled and rebuilt for training purposes. Key skills to develop: Module Unit Operations – Oxidation, Diffusion, Deposition, Lithography, Etch, Ion Implant, etcProcess Integration – Understanding the sequence of steps going into a modern CMOS and Power Technology processDesign Enablement – Understanding of PDK elements (Design Rules, DRC, LVS, etc)Manufacturing – Understanding of cycle time, defect reduction, yield models, cost of ownership, wafer costs, etc.Equipment and Process troubleshootingQualifications and Experience:Hands-on experience with 28 nm or lower nodes silicon fabrication.Expert technologist with front-end semiconductor manufacturing (FEOL) Must be physically present at IIT Gandhinagar.Will assist IIT Gandhinagar in developing courses, setting up labs, and training manpower.Can be a full-time or a 2-to-3-year engagement.Will be an employee of TEPL and may have a joint appointment as Professor of Practice at IIT Gandhinagar.
