We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Hardware and IoT Testing Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for testing and validating hardware components, firmware, and IoT protocols, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and performance. Expertise in Zigbee, LoRa, BLE, and other IoT communication technologies is essential for this role. Key Responsibilities: Hardware Testing: Conduct security testing, including RFID and radio hacking. Utilize tools like HackRF and software-defined radios (SDR) for protocol analysis and security validation. Conduct comprehensive testing of hardware components, including sensors, microcontrollers, and other embedded systems. Develop and execute test plans and procedures for hardware validation. Identify and document hardware defects and work with the design team to resolve issues. Utilize tools such as JTAG and SPI2 for debugging and testing purposes. Perform testing and validation of RFID systems. Firmware Testing: Test and validate firmware to ensure compatibility with hardware components. Perform regression testing to identify bugs and ensure stable firmware performance. Collaborate with firmware developers to enhance functionality and performance. Perform firmware extraction and analysis as part of the testing process. IoT Protocol Testing: Validate communication protocols such as Zigbee, LoRa, and BLE. Ensure interoperability and compliance with IoT standards. Conduct performance and reliability testing for IoT connectivity. Use tools like Gattool for testing BLE functionality. Test Automation: Develop and implement automated test scripts and tools to streamline testing processes. Maintain and update test automation frameworks. Documentation: Prepare detailed test reports, documenting results, defects, and resolutions. Create and maintain testing documentation, including test cases, scripts, and procedures. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, firmware developers, and product managers. Provide insights and recommendations for product improvements based on test findings. Required Skills and Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Proven experience in hardware and firmware testing, with a focus on IoT devices. Strong knowledge of Zigbee, LoRa, BLE, and other IoT communication protocols. Proficiency in test automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell scripting). Familiarity with hardware debugging tools (e.g., oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, JTAG). Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with compliance testing and certification for IoT devices. Knowledge of wireless communication standards and RF testing. Familiarity with agile development methodologies. Experience with RFID and radio hacking tools such as HackRF and SDR. Work Environment: This position may require occasional travel for on-site testing and collaboration with partners. Hands-on work in both laboratory and real-world environments.
