Job Description

Job Title: Bilingual Copywriter (English, Malayalam) – The Creative Storyteller Location: [Kerala, India] Employment Type: Full-Time About Team Thai: Ever met a detergent that’s so good it practically winks at dirt and says, “Not today, stains!”? That’s what we do every day at Team Thai. We’re a spirited FMCG group that creates laundry care and home care products—think Dr. Wash, SunPlus, Vi-Wash, Oliva, Lexus, and Gladys—that keep homes shining brighter than a brand-new smartphone screen. Our HQ buzzes with marketing mavens, product gurus, and brand builders who believe in delivering top-notch consumer experiences across India and the GCC markets. Who We’re Looking For: We know your pen (or keyboard) is mightier than any cliché in the dictionary. You’re a copywriter who doesn’t just “write copy”—you craft stories, punchlines, and headlines that dance off the page. You can sweet-talk Google’s algorithms in English and tickle the funny bone of Malayali audiences with just the right idiom. And if you happen to know a bit of Arabic, that’s the cherry on top—an added feather in your wordsmith’s cap. Essentially, we want someone who can think in multiple languages at once and still have room left over for a dash of brand mischief. What You’ll Actually Do (Yes, Really): ● Double-Tongued Wordsmithery: Write crisp, catchy, and culturally tuned copy in both English and Malayalam. If you can also sprinkle in some Arabic magic, even better! We’re talking product packaging, social media posts, print ads, POS materials, and maybe even the occasional jingle script if inspiration strikes. ● Voice Wrangler: Each of our brands has its own personality—some like clever banter, others prefer heartfelt reassurance. You’ll make sure each one sounds authentic, consistent, and unmistakably “Team Thai.” ● Idea Concoction: Be the brainstormer-in-chief (okay, along with your colleagues) for upcoming campaigns, seasonal promotions, and brand launches. Your job is to bring the “Aha!” factor, minus the cringey clichés. ● Nerd Out (Just a Little): Keep an eye on SEO trends, local consumer insights, and industry buzz, then sneak them gracefully into your copy. A keyword here, a cultural reference there—it’s all about connecting with audiences genuinely. ● Edits, Edits, and More Edits: Yes, you’ll rewrite that headline four times. Yes, you’ll tweak that tagline until it feels just right. And yes, you’ll still survive with humor intact. Your Toolkit: ● Languages: Must be fluent in both English and Malayalam (like, “I can write a witty tweet in Malayalam and then translate it into English without losing the punchline” level of fluency). Proficiency in Arabic is a definite plus! ● Experience: A couple of years in copywriting—preferably in FMCG, consumer brands, or digital marketing. Show us a portfolio where you’ve turned mundane products into must-haves with just a few choice words. ● Style & Substance: You can sell without sounding “salesy,” crack jokes without sounding forced, and explain complex features without putting readers to sleep. Bonus points if you can craft a tagline that gets stuck in someone’s head all day. ● Brainy & Organized: Creativity loves company, but it also loves deadlines. You’ll need to juggle multiple projects, prioritize like a boss, and occasionally say “Nope, not today” to that unnecessary adverb. What You Get Out of It: The Stage is Yours: Want your words seen by countless households in India and the GCC? Done. You’ll shape how people perceive products they use every day. ● A Team of Idea-Pushers: You’ll be working with a bunch of bright marketers, designers, and product folks who thrive on collaboration, coffee, and the occasional friendly debate over the Oxford comma. ● Personal & Professional Growth: Upskill in marketing trends, brand strategy, and cross-cultural communication. Think of it as polishing your pen until it’s a laser sword of linguistic prowess. ● A Paycheck (Obviously): Competitive salary, benefits, and the knowledge that your words are out there making someone smile while they do laundry. Ready to Let Your Words Dance? Send us your CV, a portfolio packed with your bilingual (and maybe trilingual) genius, and a brief note about the quirkiest, most memorable project you’ve worked on. Write to us at [Email Address] with the subject line: “Bilingual Copywriter – [Your Name]: I Speak Malayalam & English!” If you’ve got some Arabic flair too, feel free to show off a bit—just don’t outshine the detergent. It’s time to write the next chapter of Team Thai’s story—ready when you are.
