Job Objectives : The Lead Safety Officer will be responsible for executing EHS policies, managing compliance efforts, conducting regular safety audits, and ensuring that all employees are educated and trained in safety best practices. The Lead Safety Officer will work closely with the Plant Manager and the broader EHS team to uphold safety standards and regulatory compliance across all plant operations.Key Responsibilities: EHS Management & Compliance:Lead compliance with EHS regulations, including the Factories Act, 1948; Environmental Protection Act, 1986; and other relevant standards. Ensure the plant meets or exceeds regulatory and customer audit expectations.Customer Audits & Compliance Reviews:Act as the primary point of contact for customer audits related to EHS compliance. Work closely with cross-functional teams to prepare audit documentation, facilitate customer visits, and implement feedback from audit findings to continually enhance safety protocols.Risk Assessment & Mitigation:Conduct regular risk assessments, hazard analyses, and safety audits to proactively identify and mitigate risks. Develop emergency response procedures and preventive maintenance programs.Environmental Sustainability Initiatives:Implement strategies to manage emissions, waste disposal, and water treatment. Drive environmental sustainability initiatives to reduce resource consumption and minimize the plant’s environmental footprint.Incident Investigation & Reporting:Lead investigations into workplace incidents, conduct root cause analysis, and oversee corrective actions. Maintain detailed records of incidents and ensure accurate reporting.Training & Development:Develop and conduct EHS training programs, including fire safety, hazardous materials handling, and emergency response. Conduct refresher training and emergency drills to ensure ongoing readiness.
