Role Overview:A Techno Functional leader, The Life/Group Asia Head will oversee the management, maintenance, and enhancement of the Life /Group Asia insurance applications. This role ensures that the application aligns with business needs, operates efficiently, and complies with regulatory requirements. The Application Owner collaborates with stakeholders, IT teams, and vendors to deliver reliable and scalable solutions that support the organization’s strategic objectives.Key Responsibilities :Application Management Act as the primary point of contact for all Life/Group Asia application-related activities. Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring optimal application performance, availability, and reliability. Plan, manage, and prioritize application upgrades, patches, and enhancements. /Business Support Collaborate with business teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications. Ensure the application supports business processes, workflows, and operational goals effectively. Provide subject matter expertise for Life/Group Asia-related queries and training. Project Management Lead and manage application development or enhancement projects, ensuring timely delivery and within budget. Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including IT, business units, and vendors. Monitor project risks and implement mitigation strategies. Vendor and Stakeholder Management Communicate with external vendors and service providers to ensure SLA compliance. Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to understand business needs and drive application improvements. Compliance and Security Ensure the application adheres to organizational policies, industry regulations, and security standards. Address data privacy and protection requirements in alignment with legal and regulatory guidelines. Performance Monitoring and Reporting Monitor application performance using relevant tools and analytics. Generate and present reports to management, detailing application performance, issues, and improvement plans. Qualifications & Experience:Education : Engineering in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Experience: A hands on Techno functional leader who can sit with developers/ users and guide them if required. 15+ years of experience in managing core insurance applications, preferably Life Asia. Strong understanding of Life/Group insurance operations, workflows, and systems. Experience in project management and vendor coordination.Skills & Competencies: Technical Skills Proficiency in AS/400 or related platforms used in Life Asia. Proficiency in COBOL and RPG programming Good understanding of RDBMS and ERD, application integration, and middleware. Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies. Soft Skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities. Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Preferred Qualifications: Certification in ITIL, PMP, or Agile methodologies. Prior experience in implementing digital transformation initiatives in the insurance domain. Knowledge of emerging technologies like APIs, cloud computing, and automation tools.
