Job Summary : The Transport Incharge for Ambulance is responsible for managing and overseeing the operations of the ambulance services at Continental Hospitals. This includes supervising ambulance drivers, ensuring timely and safe transportation of patients, managing vehicle maintenance, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols. The Transport Incharge will also coordinate with the emergency department and other hospital departments to optimize ambulance availability and service delivery. Key Responsibilities : Ambulance Operations Management : Oversee the day-to-day operations of ambulance services, ensuring timely and safe transportation of patients to and from the hospital. Ensure that all ambulance drivers are well-trained, qualified, and compliant with legal and safety standards. Coordinate with hospital departments to allocate ambulances based on emergency needs and patient requirements. Team Leadership : Supervise and manage ambulance drivers, assigning them shifts and ensuring they adhere to schedules. Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide training, and foster a culture of safety and professionalism within the team. Vehicle Maintenance and Readiness : Ensure all ambulances are well-maintained, fully stocked with necessary medical equipment, and ready for emergency response at all times. Regularly monitor and manage vehicle servicing, repairs, and cleanliness. Maintain records of vehicle maintenance and inspections in compliance with hospital policies and regulations. Safety and Compliance : Ensure that all ambulance operations comply with health and safety regulations, hospital policies, and relevant laws. Monitor driving practices to ensure that all staff operate vehicles safely and efficiently. Ensure that patient confidentiality and dignity are maintained during transportation. Coordination and Communication : Act as a liaison between the emergency department and ambulance team to ensure seamless patient care and transportation. Communicate effectively with hospital departments, emergency responders, and patients’ families to coordinate transport services. Inventory and Logistics Management : Manage ambulance supplies, ensuring that all medical equipment and consumables are available and functioning. Monitor and maintain accurate inventory of supplies used during patient transport. Reporting and Documentation : Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for all ambulance operations, including shift reports, maintenance logs, and patient transport details. Generate and submit regular reports to management on the performance and needs of the ambulance service. Required Qualifications : Education : Minimum qualification: Bachelor, Healthcare Management, or a related field. Certifications related to ambulance operations or emergency medical services are preferred. Experience : Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a supervisory role in ambulance services, transport management, or emergency medical services. Proven experience in managing a team, fleet operations, or logistics. Skills : Strong organizational and leadership skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to handle high-pressure situations and make quick decisions. Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and safety regulations. Basic understanding of medical transport procedures. Licenses/Certifications : Valid driver's license (preferably with experience driving emergency vehicles). Any relevant certifications in emergency management or logistics. Working Conditions : Shift Hours : Flexible, including weekends and holidays as required. Physical Requirements : Ability to manage stress and handle physically demanding tasks, including vehicle inspections, loading and unloading patients, and standing for extended periods.
