Responsibilities: -Interpretation of internal and client requirementsSupervising allocated staff and being responsible for the day-to-day management of the relevant disciplineOperating complex mechanical testing equipmentMaintaining accurate and systematic recordsPerforming other duties to fulfil the demands of the laboratoryPerforming general duties in accordance with Element's internal procedures, quality as well as Health and Safety systemApplication of instrumentation and the setting up of complex data capture equipmentReport writing, data interpretation and analysisSkills / QualificationsEducated to a good general standard including English and MathsDegree level or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or another relevant material related disciplineHands-on jobSound mechanical biasPrevious experience in an appropriate Engineering environment is a distinct advantageExperience of working within a Mechanical testing environment is advantageousAn understanding of a recognised Quality Management Systems such as ISO 17025 is beneficialSelf-motivated Technician with the ability to multi task, organise and work under the pressure of a busy commercial mechanical test laboratoryExcellent attention to detailStrong written and verbal communication skillsA team player attitudeExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills
