They are low impact, and sustainable and offer our guests an authentic, unrivalled experience free from the crowds of larger vessels.Position Overview:We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to manage financial transactions and records for our cruise tourism operations. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounting principles, exceptional organizational skills, and a passion for the tourism and hospitality industry. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, compliance with industry regulations, and efficient management of day-to-day financial tasks.Role Responsibilities - What you’ll be doing:Financial Transactions and Records• Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring accuracy in all financial entries.• Record and reconcile daily cash inflows and outflows from cruise operations in the bank accounts. • Process invoices, payments, and refunds, including customer deposits and cancellations.• Track and manage accounts payable and receivable to ensure timely payments.Payroll and Expense Management• Prepare payroll and process payments for all staff. • Prepare payroll journals and reconcile to bank account. • Settle Payroll taxes and pension liabilities on a timely basis.• Monitor and record staff expenses, ensuring they are within approved budgets.• Reconcile staff commissions and gratuities.Financial Reporting• Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including profit and loss (P&L) statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports. • Post monthly deferred income and deferred costs journals. • Post monthly accruals and prepayments journals. • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations. • Prepare VAT returns on a timely basis for review and submission.• Assist CFO with analytical review queries on cruise revenue and operating costs.• Assist in preparing budgets and forecasts for upcoming cruise seasons. • Carry out ad hoc Finance tasks as required.Reconciliations and Audits• Reconcile all bank accounts and credit card statements.• Work with owners and CFO to ensure compliance with industry and regulatory standards.Systems and Technology• Utilize accounting software Xero to maintain financial records.• Work with point-of-sale (POS) systems used onboard and integrate data into financial reportsRequirements - What we’re looking for:• Proven experience as a Bookkeeper, preferably in the tourism or hospitality industry.• Proficiency in accounting software Xero and Microsoft Excel.• Strong understanding of bookkeeping and financial principles (e.g., GAAP or IFRS).• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.• Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks efficiently.Preferred Qualifications• Knowledge of the cruise or tourism industry, including revenue streams, tax implications, and regulatory requirements.• Experience with point-of-sale systems and integrating data into financial systems.• Familiarity with multi-currency accounting and international financial regulations.Education and Experience• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred).• Minimum of 3 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in the tourism, hospitality, or cruise industry.• Certification in bookkeeping or accounting (e.g., AAT, ICB, or equivalent) is a plus.Key Competencies• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.• High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information.• Excellent communication skills to create inter departmental relations• Adaptability to dynamic industry demands and peak tourism seasons.Work ScheduleAs the client is UK-based, you will be required to work in UK daytime:Monday to Friday13:30 - 22:30 IST (08:00 am - 17:00 GMT)Pay & Benefits - What you’ll get in return:Annual CTC: 7 to 10 lakhsFully remote roleBe part of a passionate, friendly and transparent culture which encourages your suggestions for improvement as we growFull training and ongoing supportAn unparalleled opportunity to be a team member of the UK’s largest mobile servicing, maintenance and repair business
