President Reshef’s TED Talk and Nas Daily interview about the University have 30 million views combined.Overview:The Assistant Controller is a key member of the finance team, responsible for supporting the Controller and bookkeeping manager in managing the organization's financial operations. This role involves a wide range of duties, including financial analysis, accounting, reporting, and compliance. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, excellent analytical abilities, and a keen eye for detail.Responsibilities:Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing monthly, Termly, and annual financial statements.Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards.Prepare and analyze financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.Perform financial analysis, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and ratio analysis.Analyze financial data to identify trends and potential issues.Accounting Operations: Oversee the general ledger and ensure its accuracy.Manage the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.Assist with the month-end and year-end close processes.Prepare journal entries and reconciliations.Internal Controls: Assist in the development and implementation of internal controls.Monitor compliance with internal control policies and procedures.Conduct internal audits and reviews.Tax Compliance: Assist with the preparation of tax returns and filings.Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.CPA certification obtained post-internship.In-depth knowledge of GAAP and standard accounting principles.Proficiency in financial systems and software, including ERP platforms, Excel, and analytical tools (e.g., VBA, Power BI).Expertise in financial modeling and scenario analysis.Advanced proficiency in Excel for financial data analysis and reporting.Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams effectively.
