Your Role:As our Founding Backend Engineer, you will take full ownership of designing, building, and scaling a robust backend architecture capable of handling millions of concurrent requests. You will be at the forefront of shaping our platform’s technical foundation.You will be the architect of our core systems. You will define, build, and scale a backend architecture that can handle million concurrent requests while ensuring high availability, ultra-low latency, and cutting-edge security. This is your chance to take the lead in shaping a technical foundation that sets new benchmarks in the industry. Key Responsibilities:1. System Architecture & Design:• Design and implement a distributed, highly available, and scalable backend architecture.• Develop multi-threaded, high-concurrency systems optimized for real-time processing.• Lead the transition to a microservices-based architecture to enable modular, scalable, and maintainable systems. 2. AI-Infused Workflows:• Work with AI engineers to embed intelligent agents, predictive models, and decision-making capabilities directly into backend workflows.• Design backend APIs to support AI-driven process optimization and NLP-powered automations. 3. Scaling & Performance Optimization:• Implement horizontal scaling strategies to handle billions of API requests monthly without performance degradation.• Optimize database performance for terabyte-scale datasets, utilizing both SQL (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Firebase).• Develop and refine caching strategies (Redis, Memcached) for ultra-fast response times.4. Cloud Infrastructure & Reliability:• Architect and manage a cloud-native infrastructure on AWS with advanced autoscaling, monitoring, and failover mechanisms.• Use container orchestration tools (Kubernetes/Docker) to deploy and manage scalable applications.• Set up CI/CD pipelines to ensure smooth, rapid deployments with zero downtime. 5. Security & Compliance:• Implement end-to-end encryption and industry-standard security protocols to safeguard data.• Conduct regular security audits and ensure compliance with relevant regulatory standards.6. Collaboration & Ownership:• Partner with the technical founder to align the technical vision with the company’s mission.• Collaborate with frontend and AI engineers to create a seamless integration between components.• Take ownership of backend development, setting the gold standard for code quality, performance, and reliability.7.Cloud & DevOps Proficiency:· Expertise in AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB) and cloud-native architectures• Strong experience with Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration.• Proficiency in monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana) and logging systems (ELK stack). What You’ll Bring:Technical Mastery:• 3 - 4 years+ of hands-on experience in backend development, with a focus on building scalable, distributed systems.• Expert in programming languages such as , MERN, Python, Java, or Go.• Proficient in designing RESTful APIs and working with modern frameworks like Spring Boot or FastAPI.• Advanced Database Expertise: Deep knowledge of relational (PostgreSQL) and non-relational (MongoDB, Firebase) databases.• Proven ability to optimize complex queries and manage sharded, distributed databases.Startup Mindset• A builder’s attitude with the ability to solve ambiguous problems and deliver high-quality solutions.• Willingness to take initiative, iterate quickly, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
