Purpose:We are looking for a committed material characterization engineer to join our R&D team. The candidate will work on the preparation and analysis of materials samples using various characterization techniques such as microscopy, spectroscopy, thermal analysis, image analysis, elemental analysis, other material characterization techniques.Key Responsibilities · Take ownership of material characterization lab and lead all the activities related to material characterization · Lead the discussion with all analytical equipment suppliers and procure the needed equipment · Work with Engineering teams to install, and validate new test equipment as well as repair and debug issues with existing equipment. · Analyze physical, chemical, structural and thermal properties of the battery using state of the art equipment. · Ensure that equipment is properly calibrated and maintained to ensure accurate results. · Write and maintain standard operating procedures (SOP) for test equipment. · Train technicians on equipment and SOPs incorporating user feedback. · Apply troubleshooting skills and ability to quickly solve unknown problems. · Collaborate effectively with the cross-functional teams and lead the project to successful completion · Accurately forecast task and project timelines to execute project plans QualificationsPhD in chemistry, electrochemistry, material science, physics, chemical engineering · Strong experience on Material characterization of battery materials Operating state-of-the-art characterization tools such as XPS, SEM-EDX, XRD, DSC-TGA, GC-MS, ICP-OES, optical microscope, BET surface area, PSD, Karl-fisher titration using standardized SOP · The candidate must have a strong interest in materials characterization and analysis techniques, excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective communication and teamwork skills.
