We are seeking a highly skilled English Language Arts Curriculum Creator to join our team. In this part-time contractor role, you will be responsible for developing comprehensive educational materials, including readings and assessments, designed to align with established curriculum standards for students in the United States. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional written English skills, a deep understanding of English literature and grammatical concepts, and the ability to create engaging learning assets independently, based on specified learning objectives and leveraging an AI tool that you will be trained on.Key Responsibilities include:Curriculum Development: Develop and write high-quality and readings and assessment materials for English Language Arts, leveraging a specialized AI tool. Ensure that all materials adhere to curriculum standards provided by clients. Collaborate with educational experts to align materials with current educational practices to keep students highly engaged.Assessment Creation: Creating a variety of question types that effectively measure student understanding. Ensure assessments are valid, reliable, and aligned with specified learning objectives.Research and Content Creation: Conduct thorough research to gather relevant content and examples to enrich curricular materials. Willingness to leverage AI tools to create illustrative visuals.Editing and Review: Review and revise materials based on feedback from peer and client reviews, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and alignment with educational standards. Maintain impeccable attention to detail in writing and editing to ensure high-quality deliverables.Project Management: MUST adhere to deadlines and actively communicate needs of deliverable timing changes. Independently create and maintain a workflow that allows for efficient completion of tasks.Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in English, Humanities, Education, or a related field. Proven experience in creative writing, curriculum development, teaching, or instructional design. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for grammar, style, and clarity. (And an understanding that British/Indian English differs slightly from American English, and a willingness to edit accordingly.) Ability to work independently and take initiative in the curriculum creation process. Can act as a positive team player who adapts quickly to feedback and is transparent about delivery timelines and deadlines.Preferred Skills: Experience in the USA or with USA culture/customs. Experience working with educators or within educational institutions. Experience with creating literature content in the past.
