Job Description

JOB SUMMARYWe are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, he/ she will: Responsible for Design and development of Mechanical systems and components for medical equipment meeting industry standards and regulations Responsible for Product sustenance activitiesESSENTIAL DUTIESDesign and development of Mechanical systems and components for medical equipment meeting industry standards and regulations Create/Review detailed 3D models and manufacturing drawings using CAD Software (SolidWorks and AutoCAD) Perform engineering calculations and simulations to optimize mechanical designs and record the data in Detailed design documents Conduct feasibility studies with quick prototyping and evaluate new design concepts based on performance, cost and manufacturability Work closely with vendors for material sourcing and component manufacturing including travel to vendor places Prototype, assemble and test mechanical systems to validate design functionality and performance Participate in design reviews and provide technical guidance and feedback to team members Support the product sustenance activities by resolving mechanical issues Stay up to date with the latest advancements and best practices in mechanical engineering OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESColloborate with global cross functional teams MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTSEducation Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field Experience 3~10 years of experience in the design and development of mechanical systems preferably in medical product development or manufacturing Skills Proven experience in the design & development and analysis of mechanical systems, structures and enclosures preferably related to medical equipment High level of expertise in SolidWorks (part, assembly, sheet metal, drawing, simulations, Tol Analyst) and AutoCAD Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, selection of standard components, material properties and manufacturing processes Experience in pressure die casting and plastic injection molding process is a plus Proficiency in engineering calculations and FEA simulation Proficiency in GD&T and tolerance stack up analysis Proficiency in design and manufacturing of parts with tight tolerance specifications Proficiency in technical documentation and creating detailed manufacturing drawings Knowledge of industry standards and regulations relevant to mechanical design, preferably medical equipment design Experience in prototyping, testing and validation of mechanical systems and components Familiarity with Design for manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles Knowledge of PLM tool like PTC Windchill is a plus Excellent problem solving and analytical skills with ability to identify and resolve complex mechanical issues Strong communication and interpersonal skills Self-motivated and able to work independently with a strong sense of ownership and accountability Ability to collaborate with global cross functional teams Knowledge of standards related to medical equipment design preferredPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS General Labor Environment requirements include use of personal protective equipment, reading, speaking, hearing, walking, bending, standing, stretching/reaching, hand/finger dexterity, and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds, or transporting up to 500 pounds via carts or mechanized equipment.The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential duties of this job.
