JOB DESCRIPTIONRole: BI ODI Admin Location: ChennaiSUMMARY:v Hands on experience on ODI 11g/12c include Installations, clustering, deploying, troubleshooting and implementation on Windows Servers and Oracle Linux Servers. v Experience working on Golden Gate Replication Tools such as Monitor and Veridata will be a plus. v Experience with installing and integrating third party tools like cdata with ODI for getting data from other sources such as Salesforce, MSPO, SharePoint, etc. v Installed ODI and set up the ODI connections with Oracle, MS SQL Server and flat files including physical architecture, logical architecture, and context. v Installing, configuring, and maintaining Oracle Data Integrator software and related components, ensuring smooth operation of the ODI environment. v Experience on Topology Manager Module to manage the data and Responsible for Metadata Administration, managed Data models and reverse engineering. v Created master & work repositories and configured ODI connections for source and target systems in topology. v Monitoring system performance, identifying bottlenecks, and optimizing ODI configurations for optimal performance and efficiency. v Managing user accounts, roles, and permissions within the ODI environment, ensuring appropriate access controls and security measures are in place. v Managing multiple ODI environments, including development, testing, and production, and ensuring consistency and integrity across environments. v Implementing backup and recovery strategies for ODI repositories and related databases to ensure data integrity and availability in case of system failures or disasters. v Applying patches, updates, and upgrades to ODI software and related components, ensuring the environment is up-to-date with the latest features and security fixes. v Investigating and resolving technical issues, errors, and performance problems encountered within the ODI environment, collaborating with technical teams as needed. v Maintaining comprehensive documentation of ODI configurations, procedures, and best practices, ensuring knowledge transfer and compliance with organizational standards. v Collaborating with developers, data architects, and other stakeholders to support data integration projects, provide technical guidance, and ensure alignment with business requirements. v Ability to restart the services from putty as well as weblogic console and Enterprise Manager. v Good Experience on monitoring thread usage, connection pool usage, CPU usage, Memory usage and preparing reports for the performance tests conducted on the Application ServersESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:• The administrator is responsible for installing ODI software and configuring, it includes setting up database connections, repositories, and other necessary components.• The administrator is responsible for deployment of ODI code from one environment to another.• The administrator oversees the ODI environments, which may include development, testing, and production environments and these environments are properly configured and maintained for smooth operation.• Managing user accounts, permissions, and security roles within the ODI environment. This involves creating and maintaining user profiles, granting appropriate access privileges, and ensuring compliance with security policies.• The administrator maintains the ODI repository, which stores metadata related to data integration processes, mappings, and configurations. They manage version control, backup, and recovery processes for the repository to prevent data loss or corruption.• Configuring connections to source and target systems such as databases, data warehouses, applications, and file systems. This includes defining data models, schemas, and data mappings for data integration tasks.• Monitoring the performance of ODI jobs, workflows, and data flows to identify bottlenecks and optimize performance. This may involve tuning SQL queries, optimizing data transfer processes, and allocating resources appropriately.• Resolving issues and errors that occur during data integration processes. The administrator troubleshoots errors, investigates root causes, and implements corrective actions to ensure data integrity and reliability.• Implementing backup and disaster recovery strategies to protect ODI environments against data loss and system failures. This includes regular backups of repositories, configuration files, and other critical components, as well as testing recovery procedures.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: • Regular fulltime B.E/B.Tech/MCA • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience as Data Integration Admin.SOFT SKILLS • Ability to work with functional groups and different level of employees to achieve results effectively and professionally. • Strong follow-up skills, ability to organize applicable department timelines and follow up with internal and external customer needs. • Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively. • Strong organizational skills, ability to accomplish multiple tasks within the agreed upon timeframes through effective prioritization of duties and functions in a fast paced environment • Self-motivated, able to work independently to complete tasks and respond to department requests and to collaborate with others to utilize their resources and knowledge to identify high quality solutions. • Strong technical documentation skills, ability to prepare technical specifications. • Excellent data analysis skills, ability to reconcile the reports with source applications and data warehouse. • Ability to communicate effectively with remote users. • Excellent problem-solving skills; ability to troubleshoot data related issues and systems related issues.
