Job Title:Assistant Professor – Management Location:Pune Institute of Business Management, Pune Department:Management Studies Job Type:Full-Time, Permanent Qualification:Ph.D. in Management or a related field Job Description: Pune Institute of Business Management is seeking an Assistant Professor for the Department of Management with a focus on both academic excellence and industry engagement. We are looking for a candidate with a Ph.D. in Management or related disciplines, who will play a key role in teaching, research, and contributing to MSME projects for onboarding companies and fostering partnerships. Key Responsibilities: Teaching: Deliver engaging lectures, seminars, and workshops for undergraduate and postgraduate students. Develop and update course material, ensuring it aligns with academic standards and industry needs. Encourage a student-centered learning environment by integrating real-world business cases, management tools, and technology into the curriculum. Research: Conduct and publish high-quality research in management, contributing to both academic and practical applications. Supervise and mentor students’ research projects, especially in the fields of management, entrepreneurship, and MSMEs. Actively seek funding and collaboration opportunities for research initiatives in MSMEs, startups, and other business sectors. MSME Project Involvement: Lead and contribute to MSME-focused projects to support the onboarding of companies, focusing on practical solutions for business growth, digital transformation, and innovation. Work closely with MSME organizations, government agencies, and industry partners to facilitate collaborations and provide valuable insights to small and medium enterprises. Assist in creating partnerships between the institute and MSMEs for research, consulting, and training purposes. Develop programs that help MSMEs with scaling, digital tools adoption, and management practices. Organize workshops, training, and outreach activities for MSMEs in collaboration with external stakeholders. Industry Engagement & Consultancy: Build and maintain strong relationships with industry leaders, MSMEs, and business associations. Provide consultancy services to companies, particularly in the MSME sector, helping them implement management best practices and scale operations. Promote the integration of practical industry projects into the academic curriculum, bridging the gap between theoretical learning and real-world business challenges. Academic Administration: Contribute to the development and review of academic programs, aligning them with current industry trends and MSME requirements. Participate in departmental meetings, faculty development programs, and academic committees. Actively participate in institutional activities, events, and conferences to enhance the institute’s visibility and industry collaborations. Student Mentorship: Provide career guidance, academic mentoring, and professional development support to students, particularly those interested in entrepreneurship, MSMEs, and consulting roles. Assist students in building networks with industry professionals, including those in the MSME sector. Desired Qualifications & Skills: Educational Qualification: Ph.D. in Management or a related field from a recognized university. A strong academic background with a minimum of 55% (or equivalent grade) in both undergraduate and postgraduate education. Experience: Minimum 2 years of teaching experience (post-Ph.D.), with a demonstrated ability to engage students and deliver high-quality courses. Experience in working with or consulting for MSMEs, especially in onboarding and implementing business strategies, is highly preferred. Proven experience in managing industry projects, especially related to MSME development, scaling, and digital transformation.
