You are expected have about 9 – 13 years of industrial experience in upstream cell culture in different roles such as process development, scale-up, scale-down and process characterization. In this role, you will be reporting to the Functional Leader and will be expected to manage a team of 4 – 5 scientists. This role will be at the Chennai R&D facility with deep collaboration with Bengaluru R&D facility. All processes developed at the Chennai facility will be scaled-up at the Biocon Bengaluru manufacturing facilities.Key responsibilities:Planning, oversight, and/or execution of upstream experiments (mammalian cell culture) with support from group leader and team members to enable process development, scale up, SDM, process characterization etc. Troubleshoot and support team members in navigating day-to-day technical challenges Oversight and/or execution of experiments in shake flasks/Ambr15/Ambr 250/5L bioreactors. Coordination with Pilot team and monitoring during scale up to 50L Ensuring ALCOA principles during data capture within the team. Ensure data tracebility for all upstream experiments. Attention to details while reviewing and interpreting experiment data. Provide insightful analysis of the data generated to make technical decisions. Participate in initiatives around modeling, data mining, digital twins and CFD. Use predictive analysis to achieve minimum experimentation for completing project deliverables Ensure data is promptly compiled in master sheets, presentations for anytime-ready presentation to senior management.
