Department:Finance Function:Finance Position Name:Finance Controller Reporting To:Chief Finance OfficerRole DefinitionTheGlobal Finance Controllerwill be responsible for overseeing the financial operations and activities across all regions within the logistics and supply chain business. This role is crucial for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting and managing key financial processes, policies, and controls at a global level. The Finance Controller will work closely with finance teams in countries, senior leadership, and external stakeholders to ensure that financial strategies are aligned with business goals, and to drive financial performance and improvements across the organization.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Reporting & Compliance:Lead the preparation of global consolidated financial statements, ensuring compliance with local, regional, and international accounting standards (IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards), GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting. Oversee statutory audits and manage relationships with external auditors. Ensure compliance with tax regulations, financial policies, and legal requirements in all regions.Budgeting & Forecasting:Develop and manage the global budgeting and forecasting process, working closely with regional finance teams and business leaders to align financial goals with the organization’s strategic objectives. Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts, providing detailed analysis and recommending corrective actions where necessary.Financial Controls & Risk Management:Establish, implement, and monitor global financial controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial information. Identify financial risks and opportunities, providing recommendations to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities.Cost Management & Profitability:Collaborate with finance teams in countries to drive cost efficiency and operational excellence across the global supply chain. Analyse and improve profit margins through cost analysis, process optimization, and resource allocation.Treasury & Cash Flow Management:Oversee global cash flow management, ensuring that funds are allocated effectively and that working capital is optimized. Monitor cash flow and liquidity across all regions and advise on potential financial adjustments to meet operational needs. Manage currency exchange risks, especially for multinational operations.Strategic Financial Analysis & Decision Support: Provide senior management with insightful financial analysis to support strategic decision-making and long-term planning. Participate in global strategic initiatives, business planning, and key project evaluations, ensuring financial feasibility and alignment with corporate goals.System & Process Improvement: Identify and implement best practices for global financial processes, systems, and tools to streamline operations and enhance financial reporting accuracy. Oversee the integration of financial systems and tools across regions, ensuring consistency and efficiency in financial operations.Qualifications & Requirements:Education:Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or Master's degree in Finance is a plus. Professional certification (e.g., CPA (Certified Public Accountant), CA (Chartered Accountant, CMA (Certified Management Accountant)) preferred.Experience: 12+ years of experience in finance and accounting, with at least 5 years in a senior finance role within the logistics, supply chain, or transportation industry. Extensive experience in global financial management, consolidations, and reporting. Proven experience with international tax regulations, audits, and financial controls. Experience in managing cross-functional and geographically dispersed teams.Skills & Competencies: Strong knowledge of financial software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle). Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong leadership and team management abilities. Ability to communicate complex financial data in a clear and actionable manner to non-financial stakeholders. Strong understanding of supply chain and logistics financial operations and cost management. High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
