Role: Director of Business Operations Location: Chennai / Puducherry Job Summary: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Operations Manager to lead and manage a high-performing global team. The ideal candidate will have a proven record of accomplishment of managing large, cross-functional teams (100+ headcount) and driving operational excellence within a fast-paced, global environment. This role requires a strong strategic mindset, exceptional leadership abilities, and a focus on driving efficiency and performance improvement across global operations. Key Responsibilities: Team Leadership & Management: Lead and manage a global team of 100+ professionals, ensuring alignment with business objectives and operational goals. Provide coaching, mentorship, and career development opportunities to team members, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement. Implement resource planning and talent management strategies to ensure optimal team structure and performance across geographies. Operational Excellence: Develop and implement business operation strategies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness across teams. Oversee the development and execution of processes, workflows, and systems to optimize business operations. Identify areas for process improvement and implement best practices to streamline operations and reduce costs. Monitor performance through data analysis and reporting, ensuring operational processes run smoothly and efficiently. Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with key stakeholders (including senior leadership, HR, finance, IT, and other departments) to ensure alignment with business objectives and operational goals. Work closely with global teams to resolve operational challenges and ensure seamless coordination between regions. Drive continuous improvement initiatives and ensure effective communication across the team. Strategic Planning & Execution: Collaborate with leadership teams to define and execute strategic goals and operational plans. Identify opportunities to scale operations globally, including resource allocation, technology adoption, and process optimization. Provide insights and recommendations to senior leadership based on operational performance data, market trends, and industry best practices. Global Team & Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for business operations across all global regions. Ensure seamless integration and collaboration between teams in different geographies, ensuring cultural sensitivities and regional differences are considered. Manage expectations and drive performance across multiple locations, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives. Risk & Compliance Management: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards across all regions. Identify potential risks to operational continuity and develop mitigation strategies. Lead efforts to adhere to quality and security standards across all global operations. Qualifications & Skills: 10+ years of experience in business operations, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role managing 100+ headcount, with a focus on managing global teams in a media, music, entertainment, or related industry. In-depth understanding of the media/music industry, including project management, distribution, content creation, and licensing processes. Exceptional leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and inspire large, diverse teams. Proven ability to manage, mentor, and develop talent in a high-growth, global environment. Experience managing relationships with both internal stakeholders (e.g., marketing, creative teams) and external partners (e.g., media distributors, agencies). Exceptional leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and inspire large, diverse teams. Deep understanding of business operations, process optimization, and performance management. Hands-on experience with project management tools, data analysis, and reporting. Familiarity with enterprise software, business management systems and operational tools. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with senior leadership, stakeholders, and global teams. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field. An MBA or other advanced degree is a plus.
