Job Title: Product Communications Manager (PR)Role Overview: The Product Communications Manager will be responsible for shaping OPPO India’s product narrative, ensuring consistent, high-impact communication strategies that drive awareness, credibility, and engagement. This role requires a deep understanding of smartphone technologies, media landscapes, and strategic storytelling to position OPPO as an industry leader in India. The ideal candidate will have strong media relationships, exceptional writing skills, and the ability to execute PR campaigns that influence consumer perception and industry conversations.Key Responsibilities:1. Media & Public Relations Strategy• Develop and implement comprehensive media engagement strategies that amplify OPPO’s product innovations and proprietary technologies.• Collaborate with the PR agency to craft compelling narratives, ensuring impactful storytelling around Key Selling Points (KSPs) and industry trends.2. Product Communication & Content Development• Own the development of product communication materials, including press releases, media pitches, Q&As, listicles, blogs, briefing documents, executive presentations, and speeches.• Ensure all content aligns with OPPO’s brand voice, messaging priorities, and strategic positioning in the Indian smartphone industry.3. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Internal Communications• Act as the primary point of contact for product communications, ensuring seamless coordination between internal teams, leadership, and external agencies.• Provide strategic guidance to marketing, sales, and leadership teams on PR messaging and positioning for product launches and campaigns.• Offer insights and recommendations to align product PR strategies with broader brand objectives and business goals.4. Crisis & Reputation Management• Monitor brand sentiment and proactively manage crises related to OPPO’s smartphone products.• Develop and implement strategies to mitigate negative press coverage and manage brand reputation.• Ensure swift and effective responses to potential crises, maintaining OPPO’s credibility and trust in the market.5. Campaign & Project Management• Oversee end-to-end execution of PR-led product campaigns, ensuring timely and high-quality deliverables.• Manage project timelines, budgets, and reporting metrics to measure the success of campaigns.• Analyze media coverage and campaign performance, providing actionable insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.Education Qualifications: MBA/Master’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.Other Requirements:• 8+ years of experience in public relations, corporate communications, or product communications, preferably within the smartphone/technology industry.• Proven ability to craft and execute strategic PR campaigns that drive product awareness and credibility.• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with strong storytelling and content development expertise.• In-depth understanding of smartphone technologies, media trends, and the Indian smartphone industry landscape.• Strong relationships with technology journalists, media professionals, and influencers in India.
