With a strong focus on in-house design, craftsmanship, and storytelling , we’re building the next generation of iconic home pieces — from mirrors to modular furniture. Role Overview We’re looking for a Furniture Designer with hands-on manufacturing knowledge — someone who can take a concept from moodboard to marketplace. You’ll design furniture that’s beautiful, practical, and scalable — and ensure it can be made with precision, within cost, and with zero design compromise. This is not just about 3D renders — this is about owning the product end-to-end. Key Responsibilities Design & Conceptualization • Design furniture collections aligned with Hello December’s brand language: stylish, functional, culturally relevant, globally appealing • Research trends, materials, finishes, and construction techniques for high-end and mid-premium categories • Create detailed sketches, CAD drawings, and 3D models for sampling and approvals Prototyping & Manufacturing Liaison • Work closely with carpenters, vendors, and factories to translate design into working prototypes • Evaluate cost, materials, joinery, finishes, and scalability during the design phase • Optimize for production efficiency without compromising aesthetics or durability • Visit workshops and manufacturing units for quality checks, sample reviews, and process improvements Collaboration & Product Development • Collaborate with the styling team to ensure each piece fits into rooms, looks, and stories • Coordinate with supply chain and operations to ensure timelines and QC standards • Be hands-on in material selection, hardware specs, and packaging design What You’ll Need • Degree in Furniture Design, Industrial Design, or Product Design • 4–8 years of experience in furniture design with proven manufacturing execution • Proficient in software: AutoCAD, Rhino, SolidWorks, SketchUp, KeyShot, Adobe Creative Suite • Deep knowledge of wood, metal, upholstery, joinery, ergonomics, and finish types • Experience with small-batch and mass production (ideal: mid-premium or D2C brands) • Ability to take initiative, solve problems hands-on, and work across design and ops What Success Looks Like • 20+ successful SKUs developed in 6–9 months • 2+ seasonal furniture collections launched each year • • Consistent alignment between design intent and delivered product • Customer love + Instagrammability of each furniture piece Perks • Be part of a design-first team building India’s most beloved homeware brand • Work closely with artisans, fabricators, and new materials • Creative freedom + ownership of entire product lifecycle
