This pivotal role requires a deep understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) as they pertain to non-profit organizations, ensuring compliance and accuracy in financial reporting. The successful candidate will play an essential part in assessing the effectiveness and efficiency of financial controls, identifying potential areas of risk, and recommending improvements to streamline processes. The auditor will be responsible for conducting audits for NFP clients in accordance with established auditing standards while engaging closely with various stakeholders, including management and the board of directors. As a key member of our audit team, the individual will analyze financial data, prepare detailed reports, and present findings to clients. We value integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to excellence, seeking individuals who are dedicated to delivering high-quality auditing services.ResponsibilitiesConduct thorough audits of non-profit organizations in accordance with US GAAP standards.Perform grant testing to evaluate the compliance and accuracy of financial transactions related to funded programs.Execute contribution testing to assess the validity of donations and ensure proper recognition.Implement EBP testing to confirm the accuracy of employee benefit plan financial statements.Develop and maintain audit plans and strategies tailored to each client's needs and risks.Prepare detailed documentation and reports outlining audit findings, recommendations, and areas for improvement.Present audit results to stakeholders and provide insight on compliance with relevant regulations and best practices.RequirementsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.Minimum of 3 years of auditing experience, with a focus on non-profit organizations and US GAAP standards.Extensive knowledge of auditing techniques, procedures, and best practices.Proficient in grant management and compliance issues relevant to non-profit funding.Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and trends.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of delivering clear and concise reports.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
