Location: MumbaiA leading client looking for GL Manager ResponsibilitiesOversee Month-End & Financial Closing: Lead the month-end closing process by supervising the preparation and review of FX, depreciation, accruals, prepayments, intercompany entries, and journal entries, ensuring adherence to internal controls and compliance standards.Team Leadership in Reconciliations: Direct and mentor your team in performing bank reconciliations for all accounts and maintaining detailed schedules for balance sheet accounts, income statements, and reconciliations.Financial Analysis & Reporting: Coordinate monthly reviews of the trial balance and spearhead flux analysis for both the balance sheet and income statement, providing strategic insights to senior leadership.Asset Management: Oversee the reconciliation of fixed assets and manage physical verifications to maintain asset integrity.Consolidated Financial Reporting: Supervise the consolidation and reporting of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financials—including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and notes to the accounts—ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP and non-GAAP standards.Audit & Compliance Oversight: Lead the management of statutory audits, tax audits, local audits, internal audits, and SOX compliance, and serve as the primary liaison with external auditors.Performance Metrics & Strategic Insights: Prepare and present comprehensive reporting and KPI metrics to senior management, driving strategic decisions and continuous process improvements.Ad-Hoc Initiatives & Process Improvements: Oversee special projects and initiatives as needed, driving efficiency and innovation within the finance function.Mentorship & Talent Development: Coach and develop team members to build a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.QualificationsMinimum of 7 years of experience managing accounting processes, policies, and systems, with a demonstrated track record of leadership and team management.Proven experience in managing accounting functions within a US company, or as part of a US company’s Centre of Excellence/shared services setup in India.Preferred background in the IT/software industry or with a Big Four audit firm.A degree or postgraduate qualification in commerce, or a qualification as a Chartered Accountant or CPA, is highly desirable.Familiarity with accounting systems such as NetSuite and FloQast is an advantage.Advanced proficiency in MS Office, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with strong capabilities in generating detailed reports and presentations.
