Key Responsibilities:Strategic Sourcing and Supplier Management:Develop and execute a strategic procurement plan for raw materials and ingredients used in personal care products.Lead the identification, selection, and evaluation of global suppliers, ensuring cost-effective and high-quality sourcing.Manage and cultivate long-term relationships with key suppliers, negotiating favorable contracts, pricing, and lead times.Continuously assess supplier performance and implement corrective actions to improve quality, delivery, and service.Team Leadership and Development:Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing procurement team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.Cost Optimization and Budget Management:Oversee procurement budgets and actively manage cost-saving initiatives across the ingredient sourcing process.Conduct market analysis to monitor trends, supplier price changes, and alternative sourcing opportunities, driving cost reductions without compromising quality.Implement strategies to mitigate financial risks, such as hedging, multi-supplier strategies, or long-term contract negotiations.Supply Chain and Inventory Optimization:Ensure the seamless flow of ingredients from suppliers to manufacturing, minimizing supply chain disruptions and optimizing inventory levels.Collaborate with the logistics and production teams to align ingredient procurement with production forecasts and manufacturing schedules.Analyze inventory levels, historical trends, and demand forecasts to maintain an efficient and cost-effective supply chain.Regulatory Compliance and Quality Assurance:Address any regulatory changes or ingredient quality issues, implementing corrective actions as needed to ensure product compliance.Risk Management and Sustainability:Develop and implement strategies for risk mitigation in the procurement process, including contingency plans for supply chain disruptions and raw material shortages.Lead initiatives focused on sustainable sourcing, ensuring the procurement of ingredients from ethical and environmentally responsible suppliers..Cross-functional Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:Work cross-functionally with R&D, production, finance, legal, and marketing teams to align procurement strategies with organizational goals.Provide regular updates and reports to senior leadership on procurement performance, cost savings, and supplier issues.Develop strong communication channels with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth coordination and resolve procurement-related issues.Market Intelligence and Trend Analysis:Continuously analyze global trends and market dynamics related to personal care ingredients, including supply chain shifts, raw material availability, and emerging ingredient innovations.Process Optimization and Continuous Improvement:Implement process improvements and best practices within the procurement function, driving efficiencies and increasing operational effectiveness.Utilize data analytics and performance metrics to assess procurement activities and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.Qualifications and Skills:Education: Bachelor’s degree in Cosmetics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Chemistry, or a related field. A Master’s degree or MBA is a plus.Experience: 2+ years of experience in procurement, with at least 4 years in a managerial or leadership role within the personal care, cosmetics, or FMCG industry.Technical Skills:In-depth knowledge of personal care ingredients, their regulatory requirements, and industry standards.Strong expertise in procurement strategies, supplier management, and cost optimization.Experience with supply chain management systems and procurement software.Familiarity with sustainability practices and ethical sourcing in the personal care industry.Soft Skills:Strong leadership, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.Ability to think strategically and manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Desirable Skills:Proven track record in driving cost-saving initiatives and supplier negotiations.Work Environment:This role may require occasional travel to supplier sites, trade shows, and industry events.The Senior Manager will work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and will be expected to manage multiple high-priority tasks concurrently.Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):Cost savings and procurement budget management.Supplier performance and compliance with quality standards.On-time delivery and supply chain efficiency.Contribution to new product launches and innovation through strategic ingredient sourcing.Sustainability and ethical sourcing goals achievement.
