Role OverviewThis strategic leadership role is responsible for overseeing all technical and quality functions across foundry operations to ensure consistent, high-quality manufacturing of automotive castings. The role entails end-to-end ownership of metallurgical process optimization, quality systems, customer interface, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives.Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical LeadershipLead metallurgical process optimization across sand casting, core making, melting, and pouring.Drive R&D and new product development (NPD) in collaboration with design and production teams.Implement advanced process control methods (SPC, FMEA, DOE).Manage raw material selection, specifications, and supplier evaluations.Quality Assurance & Compliance.Lead the implementation and continual improvement of QMS (ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 14001).Drive root cause analysis (RCA), 8D problem solving, and CAPA initiatives for both internal and external quality concerns.Track and improve quality performance metrics: CP, CPK, PPM, rework, and scrap.Liaise with OEM and Tier-1 clients for audits, documentation, and technical quality discussions.Oversee NDT and mechanical testing protocols: UT, MPI, RT, microstructural and dimensional analysis.Champion Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen projects focused on cost reduction and yield enhancement.Skills & Competencies• Expertise in process control, PFMEA, change management.• Strong understanding of ferrous metallurgy (SG Iron, Cast Iron).• Hands-on knowledge of casting processes including sand, shell molding, and investment casting.• Proficient in quality systems (IATF 16949, ISO 14001, ISO 45001) and tools (SPC, MSA, PPAP, APQP, 8D).Exposure to digital foundry and Industry 4.0 technologies (IoT, smart manufacturing).
