Job Summary :We are seeking a BESS System Engineer/ Manager to design, develop, and optimize Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) for grid, renewable, and backup applications. The candidate will work on system architecture, power electronics, EMS integration, and grid compliance.Roles & Responsibilities:The BESS System Engineer/Manager is uniquely accountable for designing and optimizing battery energy storage solutions, ensuring seamless integration with inverters, converters, and grid systems while maintaining compliance with industry standards. They are responsible for developing and implementing Battery Management Systems (BMS) and Energy Management Systems (EMS) to enhance system performance, efficiency, and safety. Additionally, they must conduct system simulations, testing, and validation using tools like MATLAB and ANSYS, troubleshoot technical issues during deployment, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation in energy storage solutions.System Design & EngineeringDevelop BESS system architecture (AC/DC coupled).Define battery pack, inverter and EMS specifications.Optimize system efficiency, thermal management, and safety.Battery & Power Electronics IntegrationWork with Li-ion, LFP, and other chemistries.Integrate power converters, inverters, and PCS.Ensure DC-AC conversion efficiency and grid stability.Energy Management System (EMS) & ControlDevelop BMS & EMS strategies for peak shaving, frequency regulation.Interface with SCADA, IoT, and cloud platforms.Work on Modbus, CAN, and RS485 protocols.Testing & ValidationPerform simulation (MATLAB, ANSYS, PSCAD, PLECS).Conduct performance testing and failure analysis.Ensure compliance with UL 9540, IEC 62933, and IEEE standards.Project Coordination & Site SupportWork with grid operators and utilities for interconnection.Provide technical support for installation and commissioning.Prepare technical documentation and reports.Technical Skills & Experience:Experience in designing and integrating Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), ranging from 5kWh to 100MWh.In-depth knowledge of battery chemistries including LiFePO₄ (LFP), NMC, LTO, and Lead Acid.Proficiency in working with power electronics such as inverters, PCS (Power Conversion Systems), and bidirectional converters.Understanding of grid connection requirements, power regulation, and relevant industry standards.Expertise in Battery Management Systems (BMS), Energy Management Systems (EMS), and SCADA integration.Familiarity with simulation and testing tools like MATLAB, ANSYS, PSCAD, and ETAP.
