That's where you come in!About this roleAs a DevOps Engineer, you will be pivotal in driving the organization's DevOps strategy. The DevOps Engineer will configure highly automated environments through the delivery of infrastructure as code and ensure repeatability and scalability of systems.This role creates patterns for developers to follow and create sensible defaults to accelerate the delivery of products to market.This role also plays an important role as an SME, uplifting those around you and removing constraints that slow down the delivery of value to our customers. This is done through maintaining and delivering a clear and coherent strategy for managing our hosted environments, providing services to the engineering teams, with a long-term roadmap that considers the future needs of the business and our customers.Here, you'll collaborate with like-minded individuals who share your passion for innovation. It's pretty rare for us to work on weekends/holidays.Key ResponsibilitiesEnsure production systems and environments are stable, high-performing, and secure.Analyse, understand, and document complicated software systems.Define and implement prescriptive strategies to measure production systems.Define and implement failover and disaster recovery procedures/processes.Work collaboratively with development teams to:Maintain and improve production system stability, performance, and security.Reduce the cost of failure.Define and improve build, deployment, and provisioning tools, systems, and processes.Reduce organisational knowledge silos.Enable autonomy using tooling.Actively address security vulnerabilities.Provide timely and elegant communication to key stakeholders.Collaborate as a member of an agile team and within the broader business.Skills and Experience5+ years of experience in a similar roleStrong experience administering continuous integration systems such as Github, Github Actions, Azure DevOps, Bitbucket, Octopus Deploy or similar.Strong experience defining and managing software build scripts such as Powershell, Bash, YAML, Octopus Deploy, or similar.Experience writing and using infrastructure-as-code, such as CDK, Terraform, ARM Templates, Pulumi or similar.Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell and Bash.Experience with the .NET ecosystem, including C#, IIS, Windows Services, SQL Server, .Net Framework, .Net Core and Windows VM’s.Experience with test and behaviour-driven development and related tools.Experience scaling build and deployment systems through on-premise and cloud environments.Understanding of SDLC principles and methodologies including Agile, Lean, Kanban, and Continuous Delivery.Experience in managing virtualised infrastructure and platform services in AWS and/or Azure (AWS preferred).Our approach to Flexible WorkingAt stackway, we value and respect differences.
