You might be a veteran nearing retirement, a semi-retired expert, or a mid-career professional looking for a consulting opportunity – as long as you have ~10+ years of relevant experience and deep domain knowledge. The ideal candidate has strong connections in the pharma and API manufacturing circles, especially in key industry hubs like Hyderabad, Ankleshwar, Tarapur, Vapi, Vizag (Visakhapatnam), Baddi, and similar pharma clusters. Your background could be in project management, business development, technical sales, or consulting within the pharmaceutical or chemical manufacturing sectors. What matters most is that you bring insider knowledge of the industry and a robust network of contacts. What You’ll DoIn this consulting role, you will use your industry insight and connections to drive Gopani’s growth. Key responsibilities include:Business Development & Networking: Leverage your network to introduce Gopani’s specialized filtration solutions to key decision-makers at pharmaceutical and API manufacturing companies. Open doors to new leads and reconnect with former industry contacts to generate high-value business opportunities and expand the sales pipeline.Market Insight & Advisory: Provide strategic market insights by sharing what you know about customer pain points, emerging trends, and challenges in the API/pharma sector. Advise on best practices and compliance standards in API manufacturing (e.g. validation protocols, audits, regulatory requirements) and recommend how Gopani can tailor its go-to-market strategies to address real industry needs.Client Engagement Support: Act as a bridge between potential clients and Gopani’s internal teams. Facilitate introductions and meaningful dialogues between your contacts and our technical sales team. Participate in high-level discussions or product evaluations as needed to ensure client requirements are understood and met (you’ll support the process, while our technical experts handle the specifics). Assist in building trust with clients during validation trials, audits, or compliance checks (for example, guiding them through understanding our Certificates of Compliance and quality standards).Strategic Growth Influence: Help shape Gopani’s regional growth strategy by identifying high-potential markets and pharma clusters we should focus on. Using your on-the-ground perspective, pinpoint where the demand for filtration solutions is rising (such as the major pharma hubs in Telangana, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, etc.) and guide our team on how to effectively penetrate those areas. Collaborate with Gopani’s leadership to refine product positioning and marketing plans based on your firsthand industry knowledge.Ideal ProfileOur ideal consultant has the following background and skills:Experience: 10+ years in the pharmaceutical/API industry – for example, in API project management, pharmaceutical operations, business development, technical sales, or industry consulting.Industry Network: A well-established network of contacts in pharma manufacturing and API companies. Connections in major pharma hubs like Hyderabad, Ankleshwar, Tarapur, Vapi, Vizag, Baddi, or similar regions will be a huge advantage for this role.Domain Knowledge: Deep understanding of pharma industry dynamics – you know how drug manufacturing works, the typical project cycles, and the pain points companies face (especially related to filtration or production purity). Hands-on filtration technology experience is not mandatory; more important is your ability to understand customer needs and speak their language.Regulatory Insight: Familiarity with quality and compliance standards in pharma (e.g. validation processes, audit requirements, regulatory compliance, documentation like Certificates of Compliance) is a plus. You should be comfortable discussing industry standards and reassuring clients on compliance matters in broad terms.Consultative Mindset: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage high-level stakeholders. Ability to work independently and proactively – this freelance role gives you freedom, but it also requires self-motivation to drive results. You are adept at consulting and can influence without formal authority, using credibility and relationship-building.Background (Non-IT): Must come from a pharmaceutical, life sciences, or chemical industry background.
