MERCHANDISING MANAGER- EUROPEAN NATIONAL KEY FUNCTION The Merchandising Managers are responsible for the local/regional execution of the sourcing and buying strategies defined by the Sourcing Buying Managers for their perimeter. They ensure the products meet organization specifications. They foster collaboration and best practices across countries to develop strengths globally. Support Sourcing Buying Managers by communicating and collaborating with Collection on operational tasks and responsibilities. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES Manage Merchandisers and Senior Merchandisers. They are responsible and accountable for their business KPIs. Review quotations and samples from Senior Merchandiser before submission for approval to Sourcing Buying Manager. Collaborate with other countries Merchandiser Managers (sharing about strengths of each country) on the allocation of styles for the Sourcing Buying Manager selection. Use their technical knowledge of SMV and planning to provide insight to the costing and capacity teams. Work with existing and potential suppliers to develop the competitiveness of their country. Actively visit suppliers on a regular basis to keep abreast of their competences and activities. Identify and source new suppliers in line with the GPS, visit the new supplier’s facilities, ensure smooth onboarding and achievement of expectations for the new vendor. Provide Local/regional sourcing and market intelligence (look for and propose innovative products, fabrics, facilities, etc.) Collaborate with capacity planner to ensure availability of capacity in their territory / region, in line with the strategies defined by the Sourcing and Buying Managers. Update Sourcing Manager regularly about country development and performance, discussing allocations decided and implementing corrective actions when needed. Develop capability of their team to support product development. Implement vendor management projects, including but not limited to, Third Way, costing evaluation, etc. Accompany the transformation of the supplier base to meet the sustainability, environmental, and social targets of the company vision. Warrant continuous improvement on social compliance. Ensure the distribution and right implementation with their team of the new norms and procedures to vendors and ensure the training. Work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders to improve the global supply chain process (delivery dates, splitting POs, capacity crunch, DTV…) Work with the fabric team to execute fabric strategy and availability. Assist Sourcing Buying Manager in successful closure of claims with vendors. Provide guidance, advice, and support to their merchandiser team to help them develop and be more efficient. Follow up with suppliers to update/sign MSA when requested by headquarters. Develop and promote fair business behavior keeping in mind social compliance and environmental as a priority. Including but not limited to the previous responsibilities, the company can also require the Merchandising Manager to carry out other duties (tasks, projects, temporary missions, etc.) that may be assigned by the Leadership on specific matters. EXPERIENCE, TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE Relevant experience to the position (reference 10 years) Relevant technical knowledge for the position Relevant product development knowledge for the position Fluent in English, oral and written. French language is a plus.
